Thank you all for motivational comments. May be I did right by expressing my feelings here. I am back.

Yes, walking helps losing weight. I am with MFP for almost 6 months but in first 4 months (for the last 2 months my weidht is stagnant) I lost ~35lbs just by controlling the diet to suggested level and walk about 5-6 miles everyday.
-
1) Drink lot of water 2) Eat within the calorie guidance 3) walk/workout atleast 30min a day (7 days a week) 4) Never let the scale overcome you. 5) patience

I use "My tracks" for tracking the distance and speed. I do not do any other workouts other than walking. Is there any andriod app available which "does not use mobile data "and gives distance and calories burn. I know on iphone there is an app (walk star) which do not require mobile data and does what is required.

Following the replies/suggesion I am getting, all I need are : - Walking/waterproof boots : I have it - Waterproof Jacket : I have it - Thermals : I have it - So, I have everything but the waterproof lower. It was just an EXCUSE that restricting me from going out !!!! Thanks all making me realise it.

Joining gym is not a big deal...but utiling is. I was a member to the gym but rarely used it due to time crunch. I live in Solihull, Birmingham, UK.
-
Thanks for the lovely suggetions. I will do some shop around for these.
-
nice progress...keep it up

Yes I did...I lost 30 pounds in 3 months (193lbs to 163lbs)... all by : 1) healthy eating 2) logging everything i ate 3) drinking plenty of water 4) walking 6+ km everyday (roughly 1 hour a day)
-
Good work...keep it up and keep inspiring people like us.

Hi...I am 5'7" and 163lbs right now. When I started MFP 3 months ago I was 193lbs. Though my lowest I remember was 125lbs (back when I was 25 (now I am 40), and I am attempting for 150lbs. I am getting comments now that what is the need of going further down on weight as ~165lbs dont look bad on me. But there is a tummy…
-
I should agree with you and try to build up my muscles with workout and countering the exercise with intake. But saying so, I can only do cardio (walking/running on treadmill) for an hour every day...anything other than this like pushups/pullups not my cup-of-tea...Or I would say I struggle coping with it.
-
I appreciate your comment. For me to be in the healthy weight category (BMI) I need to be 155lbs. Also want to reduce the fat our of my tummy part which shows up awkwardly. You are right in saying so that I would rather try to build mussle rather than losing lean mussle by going on lean diet.
-
I take your point. I am 165lbs now and TDE is 1900 but consumption should be TDEE-20% which is equal to 1500.
-
My TDEE is ~1600 and assuming less intake would help in reduction of weight. I am finding its adequate for me to eat in the range of 1200-1300cals. Though I use to do a cardio of 1 hour a day atleast every day of week but stopped for a while. I am 40 and 5'7".
-
My query is on food not on exercise. I accept I am not doing work-outs but lower-intake should help in reduction in weight. And trying to understand how eating more can help in this.
-
Thanks for the replies all. Yes, I try to be as accurate as possible while counting calories. Honestly, stopped doing workout in last 3-4 weeks just concentrating on the food intake. I will add some cardio to my diary and will try to eat that back and would see the result.
-
Thanks Cherry for the reply but I have seen people putting the numbers in percentage that they fat loss is 20% or something like that. Thats where the question comes, how to measure the loss of fat ?
-
Commendable !! Contratulations and keep inspiring people like this!!

I meant...15h May

I know what exactly you are going through !! I had this terrible time a month ago (15th June) when I started to jog instead of walking on the treadmill and my max was 30sec (@6kmph) and I was going out of breath and my shin started to hurt a lot. All I did, I started walking faster (4 to 5 kmph on treadmill with incline)…
-
thanks. though, I am losing weight but not the belly...I would definitely like to give it a try.
-
Thanks Shayleac.
