Thank you all for your replies. In answer to the question about what is healthy,( great question by the way!!!!) for me I would define healthy as near to nature as possible , ie. not relying too heavily on protein shakes, I know many people on here seem to have good success with them. I just would prefer 'real' food.

If you're in the UK AVOID Holland and Barratts Precision whey protein, its awful! leaves a nasty chemical aftertaste. I'm still looking for a good one in the UK (I want to avoid the hefty postage costs!) A personal trainer at my gym said he reckons they're full of chemicals and not much good for you? Hi really excellent progress, and there is a HUGE difference. My sister has PCOS and in my research for her, I found out two essential things. 1. Getting enough protein is essential and really helps symptoms. 2. Sugar is your enemy! All the best as you try and battle the dreaded PCOS.
