  • Weigh every day and log into Happy Scale...only log into MFP on Mondays. Great to see trends and not get worked up over small fluctuations. Also takes pressure off of that single weigh-in each week.
  • Take a look at the Eat This Not That website, and eat "that."
  • Most I've fluctuated is around 4-5 pounds. The best thing I've done losing weight this time around is go to daily weigh-ins and tracking it with the Happy Scale app. Takes all the pressure off the once a week weigh-in and helps to see how weight can fluctuate from day to day but still be in a downward trend.
  • That's just it. If you KNOW your weight fluctuates, why would you be devastated to SEE it fluctuate? How devastated are you, assuming you only weigh once a week, and your loss isn't what you expected or hoped for? For that matter, how do you know on the one day you weigh you aren't having a spike day or a day with…
  • Actually, exactly the opposite is true. When you weigh yourself everyday you see more clearly the trends and fluctuations. Most people responding here that weigh every day don't get excited and drastically change their behavior because their weight went up 0.5 or 1 pound from the previous day. We know it will come back…
  • In the first couple of miles, if you feel like you are running too slow...slow down. Seriously. Your perceived exertion may feel slower than your training runs, but with the crowd, your own adrenaline, and other runners around you, it is almost guaranteed to be a faster pace than it feels like. Many a first-timer has blown…
  • I have used a Fitbit One for three-plus years. I wear it either clipped to the waist of my pants or stick it in my pocket. Never lost it, have had little sync'ing issues with MFP, and even had Fitbit replace the tip of the clip that broke off for free, no questions asked. Related, I also have a Garmin FR235 that I wear…
  • Once a day, every morning right after I wake up. I only record "official" weight when I weigh on Monday mornings. That's my milestone for each week. I also keep a spreadsheet with my daily weigh-in that calculates a 10-day running average. This helps me to see the trend in my weight decreasing, but also helps me remember…
  • This is what I do. I weigh myself after using the bathroom EVERY morning (at roughly the same time). I track this in a spreadsheet which also has a 10-day running average. The only weigh-in I count as "official" is my weigh-in on Monday mornings. Having the 10-day running average helps you to see how even a 1 or 2 pound…
