Congratulations! Your story is very inspiring. I keep hovering close to my halfway mark but still have 2-3 pounds to go before I pass it. Keep up the great work!

OMG! You look AWESOME!!!! And you have such a cute little outtie bellybutton :-) Congrats on the great job!

Congratulations! I know just how you feel. I, too, am 5'4" and started off at 153 lbs. I kept stalling at 6 lbs loss but the scale has finally started moving a few weeks ago. Granted I haven't been consistent about logging my food; I tend to look at what I normally eat and just cut it in half. I'm around 142 but really…

I have a heart rate monitor that I wear around my chest and I HAVE burned that many calories in 90 minutes of intense elliptical workouts. You stated that your HRM said you were averaging 144 for for 48 minutes (in the fat burning zone) and only 14 minutes where you maxed out at 185 (high intensity). While your body will…

Bump for later. Thanks for sharing everyone.

I'm so saving this thread for future reference. Yummy ideas!

I agree. Logging is sometimes very tedious, especially when it's a food that is not in the system but it helps in the long run. Even when I go over, which for me is often, it's important to be accountable. Like right now, I just had a 4 oz piece of banana chocolate birthday cake and it wasn't reduced fat. Ugh! Do I regret,…

Don't know it all - check. I've been on MFP since January and it's a slow journey for me. I'm trying to change my habits but it's years of sloth I'm working against so its taking me some time. I went through the same self loathing but I read something recently that repeats in my mind when I start with the negativity. "No…

The same thing happened to me a few months ago. Hopefully that person learned their lesson not to ever assume again. I'm sorry it was at your expense. All you can do is stick to your goals and ignore the idiots.

I got the same machine last October when I decided I preferred not to run on the pavement. It really is the best machine at that price range. We put it together ourselves though the heart of it does come assembled. Make sure that you put enough of the grease in the joints and that you tighten the screws to the max. The…

While your body will burn a higher percentage of calories from fat in your fat burning zone at lower intensities, it is still better to workout at higher intensities as you will burn more calories in total which is what we all want when losing weight.

That sounds delicious! I will be trying it.

That's awesome Chuck! I do my running on the elliptical too. So far the longest I've gone is 1h 45 mins. I only have one pair of running shoes but use some of the same tricks like going backwards to give my feet a break. I wish I knew what my distance was...I have a Proform and it only shows the distance in rpm or total…

Congrats! You look great! Keep it up! What a great way to reward yourself and help others.

Thank you for sharing. I have a similar weight goal and it's nice to see your success.

Bodily labour lessens the pains of the mind.

Congrats on quitting smoking and getting right into the exercise. I've been a year smoke free and only recently have I really started working out. I know what you mean about feeling amazed to be exercising and liking it! lol Keep up the good work.

I did the same thing with dill pickle chips last weekend. Miraculously they managed to last 4 days but I do find them hard to resist. Hope you enjoyed them!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I genuinely hope it turns around for you since you've worked so hard. Your story will spare many people the pain of going through the same thing. I wish you all the best.

Hi Lorelei! Welcome to MFP. It's the best decision you have made on your way to "right." I totally agree about the gradual change in habits. I'm all about gentle exposure. I've only been here a short while myself and have found it a wonderful support and great resource. Check out my profile and add me as a friend if you…

Elid is right. The best thing to do is ease yourself into it. I tried running a while back and ended up hurting my knees so then I had to stop for a while. Since then I've switched to working out on the elliptical and I love it! No pain in the knees. Good luck with it!

So true and inspiring. Thank you for sharing it!
