HRM questions - newbie knows nothing

Just used my new FT7 today for the first time! Was so excited to see I burned 481 calories doing Plyometric Cardio Circuit! I do have a few questions for those of you who are way more knowledgeable than I am...

How do these stats look? (I'm a dope and played with the buttons so this is for most of the workout - minus the first 5 minutes only)

Duration: 40min 18sec
Calories: 452
Avg Heart Rate: 151
Maximum: 178
Fat Burn: 8:56
Fitness: 31:09

If it helps, I'm 5'10" and 185lbs - looking to lose about 20 more and definitely want to tone up my lose skin and fat...

Is there something I can do to make this workout better? It seems the Fat Burn was greatly outdone by the Fitness - is that normal? Or should my heart rate have been higher? I did take some breaks, but they were short and I pushed it...but maybe I need to try harder?

I always second guess myself and I know you guys give great advice!

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you dedcut you daily activity calories. Go to you goal page and find the number is says for calories burned from daily activity. Divide that number by 24 then divide by 60. This will let you know how many calories you burn per minute. When ever you exercise you need to muliply that number by the amount of minutes you exercise. Then subtract that number from the calories burned on you hrm. This way you know how many calories were burned purly from exercise.

Numbers look fine Here's the thing the zone really don't mean much to people like you and me who want to lose some weight Work as hard as you can to burn more calories the rest is difficult to understand and will be more important when you reach your goal weight You luck and you will fall in love with your HRM it's great to get instant feed back look at the beats and know if you are working hard or dogging it. Have fun

Don't worry to much about the fat burning zone stats. You want to work out pretty hard to get maximum benefit. I work out and try to stay at about 85% of my maximum heartrate.

While your body will burn a higher percentage of calories from fat in your fat burning zone at lower intensities, it is still better to workout at higher intensities as you will burn more calories in total which is what we all want when losing weight.
