I haven't taken a ton of group classes but I do teach Zumba and with Zumba, it is all about just moving. If you need to key it down, modify the moves, or simply slow down (tho never completely STOP moving then try to jump back in - going from 0-150 mph not so good) - I have all levels of fitness and ability in my classes…

You can check into the Challenge Packs as well - you save money on getting both the workout program AND 30 days of Shakeology. The Shakeology is one of my favorite things due to all the nutrients in it! (Yes I am a BB coach but I'm not pushy sales... LOL - I just LOVE the programs...)

I have to say go for it - just listen to your body. As a Zumba instructor... ;) when I have a bad cold, it can actually help clear up my breathing if only temporarily. If you need to slow down, then slow down. Modify the moves so you can still be moving but not going crazy high intensity.

What is your reason behind wanting to lose the weight? Sometimes the old "just wanna look good" isn't enough to keep us going. Do you have a special event coming up that you can use as motivation? Is the weight not coming off as quickly as other people and maybe that is discouraging?

Loving the program currently myself but dang if it doesnt have me dripping after 5 minutes. I have a group started for that program on the beachbody website. :) Really hard to find excuses for 25 minutes... Friday tho - 2 workouts so... ;)

wish there was a way to add this to a favorites or something.... Bleh. Initial results were totally mixed: Sit-ups 30 - Average Squats 65 - Excellent Dips 15 - Level 1 So onward and upward! Looking forward to doing these on my non-Zumba days!

I would say get a size up from normal. I typically wear a medium in women's tees but even the large in this was a bit fitted. Good luck! I LOVED doing my warrior dash (first time for me! - july 21)

I teach Zumba and burn about 597 an hour. :) All depends on how much you put into it. If you are still learning and are tentative about your movements, then you will burn less. HRM is the best way to actually tell due to that.

Ooooh some great thoughts here. I agree that finding something you enjoy doing that is physical is HUGE. The other part to that? Schedule it into your day - an appointment you must keep!
