Reddddd Robinnnnn (oops!). Went out to dinner with a friend of mine that was in town for a couple of days. The first night we had steaks and potatoes. The second night burgers at Red Robin. Turns out we did much better the night before!

I've been eating alot of frozen vege's lately -- I am into the Healthy Colors, which are lightly sauced, and about 40 calories / serving. I will also use flavored olive oils when I stirfry -- I really like the Monini White Truffle olive oil.

Thanks for the tips. And these are foods that I actually like!

GOOD FOR YOU! And I love your screen name!

Good for you! I had to go on a business trip to break that habit -- no scale, and no time to weigh, either. I have found that I haven't really missed it, and am noticing other changes, like needing to tighten my belt.

WAY to go! And great job on noticing the Non-Scale Victories! I had a similar experience -- it took me 25 pounds to shrink a pant size. Since I have bought new pants (figured I'd be in them a while), I've been a little down since I have ONLY lost 5 pounds. Yet, my new pants seem to be slipping off my hips, and I need to…

Nutter Butter Blizzard . . . sounds really good! And I don't have any Skinny Cows in the house! :noway:

Thanks for the updated chart, Vic! I think I can. . . I think I can. Despite some challenges with a recent plateau, I think I can make the 0.5 pounds to this week's mini goal of 177. Saturdays' "plateau" turned out to be a visit from TOM (he's so inconsistent lately), and it looks like the scale has gone down already.…

Keep us posted if you get on!

Sometimes, I will do this on the days that I have a large calorie burn, like when I mow the lawn (my only 1000 calorie workout!) Often, I am not hungry that day, but am more hungry the day after. I will eat back some of the calories on the day of the burn and save some for when I'm hungrier. Listen to your body --- and…

I just came off a 6 week plateau, and you know what worked? Eating more! I had a couple of days where I was eating out with friends, so I relaxed a little on the calories -- not much, but more like maintenance (which for me is around 2000 calories / day --- I usually target around 1550). Go Figure! I also increased my…

I had the same question -- what kinds of food are you eating? I have found that if I eat alot of processed sugar / white flour, my appetite keeps going all day. If I eat more protein-based meals, then I am satisfied longer. I am often over on total fats, but I am rarely over on saturated fats. The fat keeps me satisfied…

The scale is not always the most reliable measurement of success. Some weeks you will do everything right and stay the same (or gain). Some weeks you will be over your calories, yet lose. My advice is to keep doing what your doing - the scale will eventually come down. Take your measurements, and take pictures. It may be…

Way to go! I'm an Diet Coke addict myself. I'm increasing my water, but have not been able to kick it -- thanks for the inspiration.

I've been following the South Beach principles since February and so far have lost 30 pounds. I'm in Phase 2, and sometimes fall off the wagon, but overall it's been a pretty easy program to follow. As far as vegetable boredom, I use cauliflower in the cauliflower pizza crust, mock mashed potatoes (I use light cream cheese…
-
Ditto -- I use the cauliflower "rice" to reduce the calories on my orange chicken recipe. OK -- still has a number of fat grams, but cures the craving and saves me a TON of calories vs. Panda Express!
-
Sure have! B&J's Half Baked fan! Definitely cures anything that ails you. Now I feel like ice cream. Guess I'll have to break out the Skinny Cow's tonight!
-
Cauliflower can mask as several things: you can shred it, combine it with mozzarella cheese and use it as a pizza crust. (the exact recipe is on this site). I have also pureed it and combined it with Light cream cheese to mask as mashed potatoes with sour cream. And then there's the cauliflower rice, that I use for a base…

I just started drinking it, and to me, it does. I love it with my cereal!

I'm 5'7 and it took me 25 pounds to go from a tight fitting 16 to a "perfect" size 13. LOL Sometimes, I can sneak into a 12 -- other times, it's a 14 but tailored.
-
Great NSV! And good for you to staying motivated to exercise!

We called them highwaters, but some people called them Yo-yos. And guess what? They're back! Those were my very first "cool" shoes!
-
And you feathered your hair like Farrah with it, and applied the super-sized Bonne Bell lip balm -- bubble gum flavor.

Like . . . totally tubular, you know? I never could get the "big hair" look! But am still definitely an 80's chick!
