I love breakfast! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Seriously though, if I don't have a huge breakfast I'm pretty much guaranteed to overeat for the rest of the day. Most days I have muesli with almond milk and fruit (usually grapefruit) right when I get up. A little later in the morning, either after my workout or after I get ready for…

I've been easing my way into maintenance for the last few weeks, and I'd love to add some fellow "maintainers" to my FL. Sending FR now! Anyone else please feel free to add me too!

I'd definitely go with "stick". I heard this quote a while ago and it really stuck with me (and made me laugh): "Don't reward yourself with food. You're a person, not a puppy!" ....But you might want to consider just upping your calorie goal by 100-200 calories for a few weeks, if you're having a really hard time with it.…

Like many others here, I get up early to work out 3-4 days a week depending on what I'm doing at work that week. I'm on my feet most of the day and my job can get really physical, so if i know I've got an extra busy week ahead I try to shift my workouts to the weekend. I'm doing couch to 5k, which isn't easy, but doesn't…

Your approach seems a lot like mine: eat more whole foods, eat less processed ones, and exercise more! Sending friend request :)

Yum! So many good foods...here are some of the ones I eat at least once a week, usually more: 1. Mueslifusion SuperMuesli (lately I've been having it "overnight oats" style with almond milk) 2. Baby brussels sprouts (with a little olive oil, pepper, and a squirt of lemon juice) 3. Tilapia en Papillote (steamed with veggies…

Yup, totally agree with the posts above! I plan my meals in 3-4 day spans (its less overwhelming than planning the whole week for me). I keep my freezer well stocked with frozen fruit, veggies, and fish. In the pantry I always have quinoa, beans, and tuna. I then pick up fresh produce, eggs, and dairy twice a week, since I…

Portion control! I'd never be able to do this if I knew I could NEVER eat ice cream or chocolate again, so now I just do it in much (much!) smaller doses that fit within my calorie goal. You're already on the right track by exercising, so when you have a craving just pick a portion that fits into your day. Or exercise a…

Great job on your weight loss so far!!! Feel free to add me :) I'm on every day and keep my diary open. I'm almost at my weight goal (full disclosure: I didn't have that much to lose) and now I'm really using MFP to achieve a healthy, active lifestyle. Love giving/getting motivation! Marissa

I'm a pescatarian with an open diary--anyone feel free to add me! I love getting new food ideas from other peoples logs :)

Sending friend request now! I'm an avid walker, just starting out with running. I try to keep things as upbeat and positive as I can, because I've had mild anxiety all my life.

Bump for all the great running tips!

Welcome!

Frozen fruit! I swear by frozen dark sweet cherries when I have nagging sugar cravings (45cal per 1/2 cup). I also get pretty major sweet/salty cravings that I can usually curb with apple slices with peanut butter. If I desperately need to have that indulgent snack, I'll choose to walk to the grocery store that's a 20min…

^^^ This! Welcome to MFP! My advice is, learn to recognize and celebrate the little victories (no matter how tiny they might seem to others) Congrats on taking the first step--it's the hardest one! Best of luck, Marissa

What really has worked for me staying within my calorie goal has been pre-logging 80% of my day. Every night I log my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next day, making sure that I have about 200-300 calories left for snacks. That takes the guesswork out of the big meals (and prevents me from spending all my calories…

When it gets really hot and humid here I have basically zero appetite...until I step into my air conditioned work, and suddenly I'm starving! So I try my best to have veggies around for snacking, even when I don't feel like it. During the really hot months I eat a lot of raw veggies and hummus, toasted tomato and cucumber…

^^^^This For the last two weeks I've tried swapping out 2 cups of green tea for my regular morning Venti Pike with whole milk no sweetener (Starbucks addict here) and after the initial 7 days of headaches, irritability, and general b!%<#iness I'm actually feeling pretty good. ...but I know come the autumn when it starts to…
