The past couple of days it's been really hot here and I'm struggling to keep my calories up. I just feel all hot and sticky and i really don't feel like heating at all Nevermind standing by the hot cooker and cooking it. Anyone else struggle to eat in hot weather? Is it a case of just suck it up and eat!lol. Any advice is greatly appreciated

heat can have that effect.
try stocking up on tasty cold foods that will give you a good bang for your calorie buck...hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, fresh fruits. nuts are also a good option for you...walnuts, almonds, etc....protein, healthy fats, and they will help you get your calorie intake up.
lower in calories but it will cool you....frozen fruit. this summer, i toss some in the blender with some protein powder and yogurt to make a delicous smoothie. you can even throw in some spinach. it makes a cool and tasty meal replacement!0 -
Our ancestors had the right idea, building houses with a summer kitchen out back.........
I'm with srsteier......meals that can be prepared without cooking, one of my personal favourites being cold roast beef with a garden salad and cottage cheese.0 -

Yum. Going to have to have this!0 -
Yesterday I didn't want to cook as it was so hot, so I let Swiss Chalet cook for me and ordered in. can't keep doing that though. (Side note - I do need groceries so that kind of helped as well.)0

When it gets really hot and humid here I have basically zero appetite...until I step into my air conditioned work, and suddenly I'm starving! So I try my best to have veggies around for snacking, even when I don't feel like it.
During the really hot months I eat a lot of raw veggies and hummus, toasted tomato and cucumber sandwiches, spinach salad with goats cheese and mango, apple slices with peanut butter. Basically lots of raw foods or stuff that can be thrown together with very little fuss and no cooking.
My absolute fave summer snack is frozen berries! I always stock up when they go on sale and then keep them around for when I'm craving something cold and sweet.0 -
Cooking outside is a good idea during the summer. I like to make extras so I have them pre grilled in the fridge or freezer then I can just microwave to reheat. My other favorite is the slow cooker. It does generate a little heat, but not nearly as much as the stove/oven. You can also set the timer, go to work, and come home to a finished or nearly finished meal.0

Thankyou for the awesome suggestions! I only logged 920 calories today so as soon as the shops open tomorrow I'm gonna buy a lot of the foods that were suggested and I'm really excited to see what cold meals I can create.0
