I'm 53 and after I turned 45 everything just seemed to tank, my energy was non existent and I ended up putting on about 30 pounds over the past 8 years. I've been working at getting back in the game for a couple of months, had a couple slip ups but I'm determined to get ME back.

I had no idea that you couldn't work out after giving blood, OR that it was any kind of calorie burn......interesting

My husband, my children, and my best friend has known pretty much from the beginning of my journey and have been an amazing support for me. I didn't say much at work until they started noticing my weight loss at about 20-25 pounds into it, and they started asking if I was losing weight and what I was doing to lose it. I…

Lays Cheddar and Sour Cream potato chips, can eat an entire bag in one sitting. I haven't allowed them in my house since I have started my weight loss journey.

I have no experience with Grave's and trying to lose weight, however, my daughter was diagnosed with Grave's Disease when she was 14 years old. She had a "thyroid storm" and almost died, I still tear up just thinking about it, they were scrambling to reduce her heart rate, which reached 220 while resting. My best advice is…

I have two dogs that I rescued from a shelter, a black lab/beagle mix - Kasper, and a husky/shepard mix - Flint, and I can't imagine the day I have to make that difficult decision and I know it's coming because my little guy is going to be 12 soon and has seizures. It will be one of the hardest decisions I have to make but…

I had this happen to me a year and a half ago, and it scared me to the point that I haven't been back since. I know that I need to go back because I have a high incidence of BC in my family, but every time I get ready to make the appointment I panic and don't do it. I have pain in my left breast alot, and have for years,…

I started the last week of June 2013, and have lost 29 pounds so far, still want to lose about 45 more. I eat just under 1500 calories a day. I have a desk job so don't get a ton of exercise, I did join a Zumba class for 1 hour a week :)

Nightmare on Elm Street - the only movie I have ever watched where I had dreams about it that were so real, when I woke up it felt like I had been grabbed by him, my ribs actually hurt. freaked me out to no end!

My best friend and I go on a cruise every year for our girls trip :)

I've never been diagnosed, but I can definitely tell a difference this time of year. It's like I just want to go into hibernation and have absolutely ZERO energy or motivation to do anything, and I can feel my mood just change drastically. I'm going to have to break out my vitamin D again. I've heard about the light, may…

I have an Eeyore on my right ankle, it was my mid life crisis that I got at 40, and in memory of my mom who we nicknamed Eeyore. I want to get another one, and probably on the top of my left foot or maybe the back of my shoulder, I want something to represent Autism, I have a 22 year old son who has Aspergers (high…

Many times when I go to lunch with co-workers we will get an appetizer and share it, or even order a meal and share it, is this a possibility?

I completely agree!!

It keeps me accountable, I can actually see the results or proof of my hard work on here sometimes, when I'm not really feeling them or seeing them in the mirror. I like reading the posts, I've gotten some good info from them, and some laughs along the way too :)

I go on cruises every year and I know that food is EVERYWHERE!!! I have had this fear myself but then I realize that this is my vacation and I'm going to enjoy myself and not over obsess about everything I am putting in to my mouth. On top of that if you are going on any excursions or into any of the ports there is going…

Kneel down to pick something up without being in major pain. I"ve had back pain and knee pain for so many years, I forgot what it was like to NOT have it.

Yep, been there done that!! I cannot eat half the garbage I used to without paying for it in a really big way.

I went to my first Zumba class, and I had a blast, it was so much fun. I probably looked like I was having a seizure, but so did half the other women in there. The best part was it didn't feel like I was exercizing, it just felt like having fun!!

I only allow myself to weigh in once a week, on Saturday mornings. If I weigh in more than that the numbers mess with my head every time, so for me this works better.

I'm 5', starting weight was 215, I have lost 23 pounds since the end of June, and would like to lose 60 more. I've changed my eating habits, watching calories and trying to make better food choices. I log EVERYTHING. I don't always make the best food choices, but still stay under my calorie goal, with just the occasional…

Thanks everyone, I am feeling better about it and just going to go in and enjoy the new experience. I have a couple of co-workers I have talked into joining so we'll be completely awkward together
