. This is funny to me because of course the addicted brain does believe it needs for example herion to survive. Indeed, a herion addicts brain sends the signal that to the body that it needs herion in the same way it needs water to survive.

Of course food can be additive in exactly the way drugs can be. Via webmd: The idea that a person can be addicted to food has recently gotten more support from science. Experiments in animals and humans show that, for some people, the same reward and pleasure centers of the brain that are triggered by addictive drugs like…

Absolutely! I did a couch to half marathon last year training from August until the half in early November and I was out of shape and ten pounds heavier when I started training. Oh, and I am also probably twenty years older than you unless you are a returning student. Good luck!

Hi All, I held steady at 118.4. But I can no longer update the spreadsheet because my Pc died and I can't update it via my phone or iPad. Thanks so much to the group and especially balanced walker. I lost nearly six pounds and essentially hit my overall goal minus less than a pound of vanity weight. Would never have…

Can't run today as it is raining buckets. So I did an aggressive hour of cleaning. May do more. Good luck, All!

Friday and Saturday were ugly, but I started today with a light breakfast and a fast run. Hoping to keep up the momentum today. Good luck, All!
-
Yeah, I Thursday and Friday were definitely cheat days for me. But I am back on track today. Did some walking and am well within my cals. Staying positive and not looking back.

I am roasting my 22 pound turkey as we speak. We host every year and I can say there is definitely a turkey roasting learning curve. I've learned a lot. I am not setting calorie limits toady, but I did make sure to include many healthy sides. Happy Thanksgiving All!

Oh my...I love your playlists! All of you! I agree with Nikon. BW, you are an excel master. Did you go to business school? I run to some of all of these. Actually, the real slim shady got me through a brutal two miles in the snow. Good luck tomorrow, guys!

Wow! Way to go!

I have to update the spreadsheet on my old desk top, which takes sometime to start up, but I actually made the weigh in today! So, I am happy with that. I am less than a pound from my ultimate goal but Thanksgiving is my biggest weakness, so we'll see. Thanks so much for doing this balanced walker. It has been a great…

Think of lowering your cholesterol as a three legged stool, exercise, stress reduction, diet. I can not remember who, but a prominent cardiologist once said before statins he recommends his patients commit to an hour long brisk walk everyday. Try to spend some time relaxing each day, even if that just means flexing your…

I'm doing well today. Within calories with a 4.5 mile run with 4 hill repeats. Optimistic for tomorrow. Good luck, all!

I am so with you, balanced walker. When I am not busy, I find it impossible to stay within calories. Today I walked for 70 minutes. I am busy and on track with my cals. My focus for the next part of the challenge is to keep active.
-
Awwww...thanks guys! I appreciate it!
-
Well, I did it! Ran my first race in ten years. A half marathon. I finished at 2:15:03. Proud of myself. I'll probably still go over my cals today, lol! Good luck all!

Hi All, Yesterday was NOT good. Today, much better. Sunday is my half marathon and I am pretty nervous. Have a great weekend all!
-
Definitely voting! I couldn't do my long run Sunday, so I did it yesterday, nine miles! My half marathon is Sunday, so I am just doing some easy runs this week, getting ready for Sunday and staying within my cals, eating back most of my exercise calories. When reading everyone's struggles and successes yesterday, I was…

I'm sick, but managed a one mile run yesterday and stayed within my calories this week. I lost .4 pounds this week and am now 2.6 pounds to my goal for this challenge and my ultimate goal. Feeling so positive! Good luck all!
-
Oh my gosh, is it already weigh in tomorrow? Yikes. I am trick or treating with my toddler tonight. Hoping not to blow it.

Yesterday went well for me, six mile run and within cals. Today I plan a light jog, walking to and from my daughters preschool, and staying within cals. After eating out so much last week, I would be lucky to not have gained tomorrow. But I am hoping for the best and happy to have been back on track since Saturday. Good…

Last week was hard for me. I had company and there was a lot of eating out. But I turned the corner and got back on track Saturday. My goal today is to go running and stay within my calories.
-
I stayed within my cals and ran four miles. Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Friday and Saturday were tough for me because I had many social plans, but I did alright. I was right back at it on Sunday. Did a long run in the morning and made a healthy dinner for myself and my family. Today I walked my daughter to preschool and I walked to the grocers, now I am off to walk my daughter home from…

Astonished I lost 4 pounds this week. I definitely thank this group for keeping me focused. My goal for the next ten is just to keep where I am. I still wonder if my scale is just a little off or something. Good luck, everyone!

It's rainy, and I am cold and tired. Today I am just trying to stay within calories. But look out day 9...here I come. :)
