5'2.5 and I used to weigh 120lbs doing hour long cardio sessions 4 to 5 times a week and some light strength training which put me at a size 4 with a high percentage of body fat (30%). I switched to playing in the yard with my son for 20 mins everyday day and incorporating heavy strength training 3 times a week and now I'm…

A previous boss of mine who is in his mid-60s does this. He's very lean and competes in marathons regularily. I tried it and failed miserably. I'm an all day grazer. He even told me once before "Do you ever not eat?!" Ha ha ha. Do whatever works for you to stay fit and healthy.

Following this thread, great info.

Fill up on more nutrient dense food as opposed to calorie dense food. Veggies are a quick and easy way to do that.

You look AMAZING!!!! You inspire me to continue with my heavy weight lifting program.

The biggest smile spread across my face when I first saw this hit the news, cannot stand the guy! My mom is always trying his crap for weight loss and still takes his word as gold and yeah...she's gained and lost the same 10 pounds over the last five years...shaking my head.

Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein Double Rich Chocolate with almond milk. I like to add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter and it tastes like a reese's peanut butter cup, yum!!

I started my barbell training with just the bar which is 35 pounds, mainly because I wanted to get my form down really well before I started adding weights which increased by about 5 pounds per week. I perform the lifts 3 days a week. I like Stronglifts 5x5 and Wendler's 5/3/1 method to gradually increase strength.

I completely understand what you mean about having a hectic, fast paced job that doesn't allow much room for eating. I'm a funeral director/embalmer and I too would hit the ground running as soon as I walked in the funeral home. Between meeting with families, conducting funeral/memorial services, preparing pickups/drop off…

Wow...looked at your diary for the past week...*shaking my head*...definitely not eating at a deficit.

Goodness the list goes on and on! ;-) I think the worst was growing up my entire family cooked with lard, so bad for you. It was used mainly to fry things up in like potatoes, dough, and intestines. To this day lard repulses me. Nowadays I eat a heck of a lot more veggies, especially when I'm cutting and need to satiate my…

That sounds about right. I have a family of 3 (husband, toddler son, and myself) and we spend an average of $160 - $200 per week on food and we polish it off completely.

I also have a desk job M - F from 8 -5. I'm a 5'2 female and I eat 1600 calories to lose about a pound a week. I do cardio 5 days a week for 30 - 40 minutes and I lift 3 to 4 days a week for about an hour. To maintain my weight I eat anywhere from 1900 - 2000 calories. I consider myself to be moderately active, definitely…

5'2 gal here. I started off my weight loss journey eating 1200 calories net and yeah I lost a pound a week but I was always hungry and zapped energy wise. Started lifting heavy things and now I eat 1650 calories net and my body fat percentage is creeping down and I'm losing inches. If heavy lifting lets me eat more then…
