Love my Garmin Vivoactive. Had it about a week and it is working great. I use it for daily tracking and road biking

Hi - My program calls for no liquids 30 min before or after, and no drinking while eating.

My breakfast routine is a greek yogurt and 1 pc of string cheese. It's worked well for the last 1 1/2 years.

it took me about 12 months after RNY.

My insurance required a 6 month supervised diet before surgery. During that period the diet that my surgeon recomended was 3-4 oz. protein, 1 cp veg and 1 fruit for each meal. I lost aprox 30 lb during the 6 month period. This was the same diet required for the month before surgery, they do not use the liquid diet. This…

My stalls only lasted a couple of weeks tops. I did find that keeping a accurate food diary and measuring your food it a must. It is amazing to see how all of those "little extra" things can quickly add up.

I really can't comment as I didn't have a liquid pre op diet. Mine was the same as my 6 month pre for surgery diet. 3 oz protein, 1 cp vegies and 1 fruit for each meal. I do agree that you need to do what ever works for you as long as it is inline with your Dr's requests.

I really suggest that you do your reasearch and that you are really confident on yourdecision. I chose RNY, and I have had no complications or issues. I am 1 1/2 years out from surgery and have hit my goal weight after loosing 30 pre op and 100 post op. I had a 2 night stay in the hospital, and 1 week at home before…

Sorry not a lap bander, but I will be happy to offer any help as you go through the journey. Often I am the only guy in my monthly support group meetings. I had RNY 1 1/2 years ago and have maintained my 130 loss. Let me know if you have any questions.

I really second Mommycline's advice. You really want to take advantage of that first year or the "honeymoon" stage. The other advice I can offer is do NOT introduce carbs other than fruits and veggies. I am 1 1/2 years out and and have reached my goal of a 130 loss. I attend monthly support group meetings for over 1 year…

Hi - I suggest you really do your research because you need to feel good about your decision. I am 1 1/2 years post op (RNY) and I would do it again in second. Before surgery I weighed 300 lb, I had diabeties, high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I stopped taking all ov my meds (diabetes day after surgery - blood pressure…

I used my binder for about 2 weeks. I don't believe I needed it towards the end, but I liked the extra security that it provided. I'm surprised that they didn't send you home with the breating measurement thing. My Dr. really stressed how important it was to use it every hour or 2.

I had to complete a 6 month supervised diet program to qualify for my insurance program. Over the 6 months I lost 30lb. The nutritionist said that the insurance company was just looking for weight loss. if I had increased at all from 1 month to the next I would have to start the 6 month period over again. There were…

I am 14 months out and I have attended 17 monthly meetings (I went to a few before surgery). My surgery center also has special meetings for anyone over a year out. They are very helpfull and I strongly suggest you attend.

Almost 14 months post surgery. Down 130 total (100 since surgey). Currently at my goal of 170 lbs. The past year has been amazing. I started biking and currently ride 30 to 40 miles 3 to 4 times.a week. I would never have the energy to ride 10 miles when I weighed 300.

I had RNY on 6/22/11. I have lost 100lb since surgery and 130 total. Make sure you really do your home work when selecting your surgeon and the procedure. Luckily I have Bariatric surgery center of excellence in my area. After reviewing many of the questions others have asked on sites like "thinner times" I was amazed at…
