I have noticed that when it comes to working out that I bulked up at first but things have slowly been leaning back out. I think that it has to do with the fat that sits on top of the muscles. As the fat burns and is lost, everything has been looking a lot leaner. I never thought my calves would be this small and toned…

Definitely try to add in more protein and fiber. Both of these will help you feel fuller longer and lean protein after a good workout helps replenish your muscles. I love greek yogurt after a workout as a quick snack if I don't have time for a meal.

For Zumba I have some dance studio sneakers by Ryka. http://www.zappos.com/ryka-studio-d-granite-gunmetal-white They are great for Zumba because they allow you to move with unrestricted flow. I have found with traditional sneakers there is too much grip and actually a girl hurt her knee in class because her shoe gripped…

Breast size is relative. When I first started losing I noticed the volume in my breasts going down and the rest of me was staying the same. I was getting really bummed about smaller boobs. Now a year later, my breasts are a 36DD because I have lost so many inches around my rib cage and back. Now I'm frustrated because my…

I am right there with you. I crossed the 100 lbs mark last week and this week I have been feeling so unmotivated. It's like, how can I lose 100 lbs and still not be THERE yet. It's definitely a new lifestyle for me and I have to keep reminding myself of that. There really isn't a "THERE" its not a diet with a starting and…

I have the same problem. Really interested in feedback. I know I have smoking abs under all the dimples and junk...I just need my skin to be tighter!

Squats - brief case, courtsey, jump, etc. Lunges "Hiking" at a serious incline on the treadmill or out in real life somewhere. All these tactics have helped me keep a nice, round rear while losing weight all over my body. Hopefully it can help you shape yours back up :)

From my understanding, shin splints can selectively hurt. I do not feel shin splints when I run (usually) but I dp feel them when I'm walking on an incline. On a rare occassion I feel them when walking on level ground but the incline seems to cause the most pain. Running is perfectly fine for me. Have you been to a running…

Ahhh...very true. I just assumed that our poster was trying to lose weight due to being overweight. Hopefully my assumption was right. I don't want to be giving bad advice to someone with an eating disorder :(

Dump him. Just joking. I have similar problems not with my boyfriend but with my family. My parents are huge enablers and not standing up for myself is part of the reason I maxed out at nearly 300 lbs. I have had to learn to eat around them in a way that makes me feel comfortable. I have had to learn to say "NO, I'm not…

I use the Mrs. Dash salt-free Southwest Seasoning mix whenever I make fajitas. It is really awesome.

I agree with Erick. It definitely sounds like you need to eat more. I LOVE greek yogurt after particularly intense workouts. You have to listen to and trust what your body is telling you that it needs. If you are lifting and trying to build muscle you are going to need protein to replenish your muscles. You'll also want to…

Oh yeah, also I love using olive oil now as a deep conditioner. I put it on my hair, go do things around the house for 15-20 minutes, shampoo twice and my hair is super soft and tame. I apply extra conditioner to my ends after shampooing because my ends are super duper dry.

I have been growing out what appears to be the same haircut as you for the last year. Seriously the best thing to do it to get trims so that it doesn't look so heinous while its growing out. I'm so glad I did this otherwise I would've looked crazy! I think I remember you being in the Atlanta area...if you are let me know…

Hi Boobee - it definitely sounds like you have some compulsiveness going on. To get to the root of the problem, I have found that sittind in a quiet space and taking a moment to myself helps me to get to why I am feeling the urge to eat. For it to work, I have to be totally honest with myself. I have found that the urge to…

Ummmm yeah, definitely sounds like a scam. Trust your instinct - stop the product and find another doctor.

Seriously? That's a pretty rude response. Obviously you have too much time on your hands if you are worrying about this kid's texting style. Good luck with this - all you are going to do is end up alienating your daughter which will push her closer to her boyfriend. Kick her *kitten* out if it's that serious. The world has…

Not everyone drops a lot of weight at the beginning. I know I didn't. I have consistently lost between 1 and 3 lbs since I started losing weight and I weighed a lot more than you when I started :) It can take a few weeks to really get your metabolism and see that reflected on the scale. Don't give up. Don't obsess over the…

Every morning. I no longer fear the scale and I'm not obsessd either. Its just part of my normal routine like brushing my teeth or applying makeup. It gives me a chance to reflect on what I have been doing in terms of my diet and exercise and whether or not its working. It has also helped me understand my body better…

Its actually bad to wear two sports bras. It compresses the breast tissue and actually causes more damage. You actually want a sports bra that has two defined cups and not a typical compression type bra that does the whole "uniboob" thing. I have had great luck with Freya actives underwire sports bra and also Anita's high…

I would not take pills before talking to a doctor about possible side effect. Could cause stomach bleeding and all kinds of issues....

Oh , I thought this was going to be about the NKOTB...haha. Welcome to MFP :)

Thanks! Very helpful :) Going to check out the ZigFlow now...

I did go to a running store and went through the whole fitting process. I'm a neutral runner and I ended up with the Asics Nimbus 12. They were good for awhile but now that I'm running longer distances they don't seem to be doing the trick anymore. I even bought a new pair thinking that my first pair were just worn down. I…

Nisharae - Thanks for the edit! :) I'm mainly looking at them for distance running. I do take some classes that involve intervals that alternate between running and strength training but the shoes I currently have are fine for short distances on the tread during class.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I see in your signature that you are turning into a runner :) Do you feel less stress on your legs when you run in them? I'm really hoping to reduce the stress on my shins.

Are all of your workouts high intensity? I bloat a LOT after very intense workouts. It lasts for about a day. Doing active recovery really helps with this - I will just do some cardio and take a break from the lifting for a day or two depending on how my body feels. Try exercising more times a week but work in some low…

That is the same number of calories MFP said I should eat - 1340 - and my dietician said to never go below 1500. She said that 1500 should get me down to a weight of around 150 and I should be able to maintain it eating the same number of calories. So far the plan has been working :) Definitely keep with what your doctor…
-
I am not sure how many calories MFP has allocated that you eat but for me, the number is much lower than my dietician recommended. I have stuck to my dieticians recommendation and I have been losing weight at a faster pace than MFP suggests I should be. Also, in my experience it takes time for your body to adjust to your…

It takes some time for your body to get used to what you are doing. Your body might be holding onto weight if you have drastically changed your eating habits. Give it some more time. Sometimes people have a lot of weight loss their first couple of weeks but not everyone does. In my experience, it took awhile for the pounds…
