1. Be more consistent with my training, specifically in Taekwon-Do. Learn my patterns for the next belt. (Running and boxing seem to be consistent. *patting self on back*) 2. Add back yoga class(es) and strength training (Sworkit app) that I WAS doing a few months ago but fell off the wagon. 3. Organize my teaching…

Push-ups are still on the top of my “most hated” list. And we do them all the time. And my arms still look like two sticks. Haha

We had all 7 of us in TKD at one point so that’s when I decided that we probably weren’t going to have individual belt displays. I do like the one you posted though: nice & compact!

You can’t stop calling everyone “Sir” or “Ma’am”.

Try Target & Walmart first.

My husband was my inspiration actually. I grew up on a small dairy farm and did lots of manual labor around the farm. We would mock anyone running because who needs to run when you are doing manual labor all day long. (Not that we saw too many runners, mind you.) So anyway fast forward to meeting my husband after college:…

All of the above posters are Lucky Ducks. The most that I seem to be able to get out of my running sneakers is around 250 miles. After that, body parts in the lower half starting talking to me... :(

Results: 39 out of 50. "Wow. You have a problem. Running completely controls your life. I guess in the grand scheme of things, being addicted to running is a good problem to have, but dang. You’re probably reading this on a treadmill right now, you psychopath." I have no idea what they are talking about. I can quit…

re shelly_rj's pic; Love it!! :D

re "I am not fat but I definitely know that this is not the healthiest I could be"; Excellent. Then keep doing what you are doing, tweak what might need tweaking (eg, eating too much sugar) and do the very best that you can do to stay active, get good sleep and eat well to feed your body in order to sustain your energy and…

13. The "smile-and-wave-while-running-a-half-marathon" aka "I'm-so-awesome-that-it-hurts" selfie I know. I'm a dork.

No. You do not look skinny or skinny fat. You are beautiful.

Matchmaker, before there was an internet version. That was in 1993. We married in 1996. Eighteen years and 5 kids later, we're still happily married.

The crying into her lettuce was the best part!! LOL

I seem to do well with 7 hours sleep. And I generally get up by 6 or 6:30am. So 11pm seems like a reasonable bedtime for me.

My favorites: Steamtown marathon (mostly downhill, scenic, great time of year to run in PA, great support): http://www.steamtownmarathon.com/ Marine Corps marathon (emotional marathon for me being from family of military men, run past several monuments in DC area, great course, lots of support from crowd, a Marine puts the…

I think that the craziest run that I recall was one where my running buddy and I were training for a marathon. We were scheduled to run 18 - 20 miles that day and it was predicted to be scorching hot outside. So we started out by saying, "We'll just do what we can do and not worry if we can't get the whole goal distance…

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!! *running in circles with arms waving wildly in the air* Wait. What?

When I was in high school, the only thing that I bought for lunch was a chocolate milk. Not saying that was a great idea to not eat anything else, but I wasn't really hungry and it filled me up. Chocolate milk is actually a pretty good recovery drink which can be used in place of the commercial recovery drinks (and is…

I believe that they HAVE to take two if they buy lunch. I might be wrong about that but my husband and I attended a school breakfast with some of our kids and we were told that our kids HAD to pick two. Just stupid. Because one of my kids is lactose intolerant and he can't drink a water and juice. (I can't even drink a…

That's awesome!! In America, in the land of plenty, there shouldn't be one kid who goes hungry.
-
Omgosh! This is so sad. :(
-
Removing chocolate milk as an option is idiotic. Now those kids who would only drink chocolate milk won't drink anything. Did you know that the student HAS to pick up a milk product (even if they are lactose intolerant) when they buy the school lunch? So not only will kids not drink the milk but it will be wasted as well.…

I'd like to see a race so less commonly run that I take the podium at the end. :D

The piece about having your support crew looks a bit familiar to me. Only I'm the gal running and complaining about the supplies that was brought to me and my husband is yelling at me from the vehicle! LOL (No, I'm not an ultra runner. Just a mere mortal marathoner. Sigh.)

I agree with Carson. It is more likely that you will take a few years to get to BQ pace in a marathon. That being said, you never know, right? So just keep working on your pace, with hill repeats, intervals, fartleks and of course keeping your mileage up with weekly long runs and I think that you will see your pace improve…

HA!! I told my kid the same thing! One time, about a year ago, my 13yo boy threatened to leave and stay over at the neighbor's house (also his BFF's house) probably because I give him too much work to do around the house. *rolling eyeballs* I said (paraphrasing), "Go ahead! See if they want you there long term!! I can bet…
