  • Believe it or not I was sort of in the same boat. This is what I have found to have worked for me so far regarding my boyfriend. We go grocery shopping and I have a list of foods I want to buy and eat, he can eat them too if he chooses, but I make it clear to him I am trying to get healthy and lose weight. At first he…
  • If you wouldn't mind me joining I think this would be great! I got off track the past month and a half or so and still have about 25 pounds until my goal weight! So if I could be held accountable by someone for the next 90 days to get back on track and hopefully lose the weight, it'd be great!
  • Thanks everyone for your responses! I'll start looking at the ones you each listed. :)
  • Welcome! :)
  • I bought a Taylor scale from Walmart for $25, it rounds to the nearest 0.2 of a pound. I really like it for the most part.
  • I'm 5'3" When I was my heaviest (back in high school before I joined MFP), I was 170 at a size 12/13, I am currently now 140 at a size 6 roughly.
  • I think those are great goals! Good luck and I hope you reach them! Mine are simply: Hit weight of 130 (9.8 pounds to go!) And to run 36 miles (23.72 miles to go!)
  • I once read in an article that for the first 30 minutes of cardio all you are solely burning are sugars, once you get past that 30 minute mark then your body starts burning fat....I don't know if that is 100% true, but I know I try to work out for at least 45 minutes to an hour if not more. That could be where your issue…
  • It gets tougher the closer you get. You have to switch up your workout routine....workout more, etc, and confuse your body. I've found recently that some days I'll eat over my calorie limit and then other days eat under and it confuses my body making me lose more weight in the end.
  • I feel you! I want to join the new Planet Fitness that is opening up near me soon....but I never know what to do, and for how long to do it. Getting started is always my biggest challenge! I wish you luck and hope you get a routine down! :)
  • It's a bit challenging depending, but it's definitely fun and a great workout...Zumba. That's always my go to workout. You can als mix in your own moves and make it more you if you want.
  • That is awesome!!! You are a great inspiration!! Keep up the amazing work!
  • Never really thought of this...thanks for the update and info! :)
  • That is awesome!!! Great inspiration and motivation for me!
  • Hello all!! If you don't mind me joining this group for support as well, that'd be great! At the start of January my goal was to lose 45 pounds by end of May beginning of June. Age: 22 Starting Weight: 160 Current Weight: 146 Goal Weight: 115 Goal per week: 2 pounds Goal for working out is every day, most of the week 1…
  • Hello! I'm 5'3" Heaviest (in high school): 170 Starting (on MFP): 160 Current: 148.4 Goal: 115-120 Size wise currently is roughly Size 8-12 depending.
  • There are so many different home workout DVD's you can purchase, or find videos of for free on YouTube. I love Zumba, personally. It's fun, works your whole body, and it's basically just dancing! This way, you're at home and able to help when you can, and you can pause it if needed. They also have Rush workouts (from 20-30…
  • Feel free to add me. For some reason all the friends I had added got deleted. I'm 22 and need some friends to help keep me motivated as well! :)
  • Hey don't stress!!! As they say, "just because you're having a bad day doesn't make it a bad life." The same thing goes for cheat meals or cheat days, yeah you may have a misstep one day, but don't let that ruin everything for you. It happens. Just like if you drop your phone, they say, just because you drop it does it…
  • I've owned the Zumba: Exhilarate DVD's for over 2 years now and LOVE THEM! I want to buy the newest DVD's too! I've never been to a class, but I know in the DVD's they have different levels from easy to hard, plus within some of them they show you modifications if you can't fully do some of the moves. They have a…

  • My goals are somewhat similar. I've always been the "heavier" girl, not by a lot, but it's always made me very self conscious of it. I want to be happier and healthier and more confident in myself. Not to mention it would be nice to be able to wear all the cute clothes I see others wearing, and have them actually LOOK GOOD…
  • When it's not too terribly cold outside, I bundle up and go on a jog. As they say, "it doesn't matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone on the couch." I also do Zumba! It's dancing and you can tone it down if you want as to not be jumping around and what not.
  • Thanks everyone for the different ideas!! I've been wanting to try T-25 because I've heard good things about it, but don't have the $120 to spend on it. So I'll start YouTubing tonight!
