Thanks everyone. I've been struggling for weeks. Should have asked you guys sooner. X

I am bored in the evenings. I think you're right. But after running around with my 2 year old all day, I need time to wind down. I should try water again. I can't stand water. It makes me feel sick. But saying that I manage 4 cans of diet caffeine free coke every day and have probably just got used to the adverse affects…
-
Anyone ?!
-
Sorry! You sounded like a newbie in your post - trying to make a quick fix! I gained a lb over Christmas. And a lot of wind from those extra carbs I'm not used to anymore!
-
I've just noticed your profile picture. What you worrying about 2lbs for ?
-
If you have trouble cutting down on carbs a super clean diet might not be for you. Try just setting a calorie limit and eat a bit better as and when you can and you might find you might do well long term. This site is about changing lifestyle and nutrition rather than a 2 week quick fix. Good luck.

I've decided to keep half in the house to practice self control. only had one mini Swiss roll I wasn't supposed to eat today so so far so good!
-
My mum just pointed out that I had better wrap them up well or the mice might get them. My reply was: I better wrap them up good - I'm not sharing! (With the mice that is).
-
ChristineS - maybe she was given them as presents and was passing them on!

That's the answer for me. I'll put it in the shed at the end of the garden. Or in my car. It's 4 - 10 degrees here and I hate the cold and won't go get it if I have to explain to my son that mummy can't survive without a chocolate fix!
-
Yes. That's how I feel. I have no concept of time when it comes to chocolate. I can't imagine there being some left in weeks to come. Anyone would think I'd grown up having chocolate stolen from me. It's like I have to eat it or it'll go. It seems silly to give it away when I will be needing it! I think people think now…

Brawler Bella sent me this link to explain that the endomondo uses your gross calories burned. Which is the exercise calories plus the calories you would burn in that time sitting still. Here is a good explanation. http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/articles/net-versus-gross-calorie-burn.aspx

You can only catch a cold if you come into contact with one. Not from standing in it.
-
Yes, I would say they were underused. That's exactly what I mean. I have hand weights. They barely feel like weights. I think they're a lb each! I've been doing it for 5 months now I've been going easy cause I have bad knees and back from poor lifting of a disabled boy and terrible posture. And my 2 year old likes to climb…
-
Haha davpul. No, I wouldn't know! I've never really exercised but when I was at school I remember being lucky if I tried anything sporty. I've been doing 10 mins cardio/weights at home for a few months and can see my jelly legs changing already. I just wondered if that was possible already.
-
Have you considered the possibility that you might be sleep walking and heading for the fridge? You never know. But I guess you would have noticed food going missing. Just throwing it out there as a possibility.

It's not picking up my heart rate but picked up my husbands. Is it working for everyone else?
-
It's not picking up my heart rate :(
-
I'm planning on comparing it to my polar ft hrm. It would be good if mfpal-ers could post their results.
-
I couldn't care less when my husband got the Xbox one. Then he told me about the fitness section!
-
Wow. Thank you. I got a bit lost on the MIT quote but you explained it so I could understand. I'm looking forward to comparing their heart rate readings to my polar ft hrm. Will you be using it for calculating your calories?
-
Is that how long you thought about it? :)
-
When I was putting on weight I think I thought it was a longer process. That I'd put weight on over time. But now ithink of it only taking 4 or 5 hours, I think I'll think twice before eating something. Is that the same for others when they were putting on weight. I don't think I gave it much thought.
-
Yes. I was just curious and interested how it works because I've been lucky when I've over eaten (under maintenance, but still losing) and am preparing for going to maintance. Heybales - I don't actually use a computer just an iphone!
-
To be honest I was just seeing what I could get away with in terms of looking at past calories. Does anyone know a site that does a graph showing calories each day and weight on the same chart?
-
Thanks. I hope I get well soon too! I don't go to the gym but if I did I wouldn't go with a cold. I worry about if the person before me has washed their hands whenever I use a supermarket trolley! Will exercising extra next week make up for overeating this week? Just this once? I feel better when I've eaten.
-
Thank you sunsetzen. For clarifying how nutrition is important for colds. As a poor eater I guess I eat lots when I have a cold to cover the nutrition basics without realising it. Jacksonpt - I meant you have me sussed by saying busted! I think I was looking for an excuse, but I'll try and eat more protein instead of more…
-
Agreed. It drives me mad when I take my kid to play group and there's a child there with snot running down their face.
-
Jacksonpt - busted!

Is that strictly true? If you're run down already then a virus could take hold more. Ie elderly are more at risk from the flu/ sickness bugs. So if you're running on fewer calories than you should (dieting) are you less able to fight a virus off? Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to eat more!
