  • The normal daily calorie expenditure is 500 for breastfeeding. You need to be careful not to eat too little, or your milk supply will dry up.
  • My boys love make your own tacos, make your own taco salads, turkey burgers, pasta, pork chops, chicken ribs, sausage - especially chicken apple sausage or Sweet Italian sausage, eggs, potatoes, and raw veggies and fruit. Neither like casseroles, cooked veggies (except corn, green beans, and potatoes). Breakfast for dinner…
  • I'm 173 pounds and about the same height as you. I'm eating 1470 plus some, if not all, of my exercise calories daily. My loss has been slow, but i'm seeing gains in muscle mass and loss in fat mass. I've found that drinking lemon water throughout the day (especially first thing in the morning) has helped and I've switched…
  • Swimming, yoga, Pilates, naps, and hot baths are the best stress busters for me. My kids will swim, do yoga & Pilates with me. Going for bikes rides and exercise in general can relieve stress. You can exercise with your little ones and it will help them too. It helps you sleep better at night and burns calories. Can't get…
  • Your sodium intake was REALLY HIGH yesterday. You are retaining water. It takes 2 days to rid your body of water after excessive sodium intake. Try to keep it below 2,300, ideally under 1,500. The fact that you feel better and your clothes fit better is more important than the scale.
  • 1 1/2 years ago I used MFP and lost 30 pounds in a few months - using their recommendations. I exercised some, but mainly the weight just started dropping off. At some points I worried that I had cancer, because I just kept losing. It was effortless (pretty-much). After a few months of maintenance, I stopped logging. I ate…
  • Yes. My primary problem is my stomach, but I know that in order to have a perfect body, I'd need to exercise hours each day. It takes work for most people to look really good. I checked your diary and it is disturbing. Why aren't you eating more? How do you expect to have energy eating that little? You need to exercise to…
  • Eating too many carbohydrates, not enough fruits and vegetables, and not exercising enough.
  • It's a numbers game. Eat too much today, deficit is okay tomorrow. Can do it over a few days even. Know you're going to a party and want to just enjoy? Save a 100 calories a day for a few days in advance to splurge, try to keep it within a few days. It will all even out.
  • Buy a lunch bag you can freeze and pack some things for first leg of trip - be sure to eat them first. Nuts, rice cakes, seeds, apples and fruit cups all will last without refrigeration.
  • Air popped popcorn with Mrs. Dash, a few almonds and a cup of herbal tea are great night snacks. Fiber, protein, flavor and no sugar which will make you hungry again quickly.
  • Aside from the not logging, I noticed you don't eat healthy foods. Many days you logged didn't include any vegetables or fruits. You eat a ton of bread and junk. You should primarily be eating vegetables, fruits, grains, and lean proteins which will fuel your body and help it to work for you. Most of your intake is…

  • Danskin capri yoga pants are incredibly comfortable and modest, and a large tee shirt with a form fitting cotton tank underneath to absorb sweat.
  • My sister was on Synthroid for years, and struggled with hypothyroid symptoms. Recently switched to Armour and lost 20 pounds very quickly. Said she feels much better on the Armour.
  • My husband and I are doing the same, by choice. It has forced us to eat healthier. Less processed crap. My diary is open. You can check it out for ideas. I'm on vacation now - so it will be off. As you can see, I enjoy a large variety of foods. Neither of us really miss the gluten. We both feel better since we've given it…
  • You look fantastic. Great work, you deserve to feel good about your body. I agree with many people that 30 more pounds seems too much. You have been gaining muscle, so you probably need to be at the upper part of your height healthy weight range recommendation in order to maintain your muscle. But, if you keep working, you…
  • I've been experiencing the same thing. Up and down 2 pounds over the past 3 weeks with healthy diet and exercise. Last year I used MFP and lost steadily for months. When I reached my goal, I tracked for a few months and had been maintaining - then I stopped. A few months later I started feeling lethargic, heart racing,…
  • When I initially did MFP, I had it set to lose 1 pound per week. I followed their guide, lost about 5 pounds the first week and for several months after that lost about 2 pounds per week - with little exercise. As I felt better I started to exercise and tone and continued to lose. I'd set it to lose 2 pounds per week, and…
  • Eat more tomorrow. Just try to balance it over a few days.
  • MFP often overestimates burns. If you are using a HRM, then I would say eat more than 1/2, if not all, of the calories you are burning. Otherwise, you will deplete your energy stores, feel awful, and eventually run out of steam. MFP already sets your calorie goal at a deficit, so you should lose weight without exercise.…
  • You're an inspiration! Congratulations on your success.
  • Even when I did WW, they recommended that you limit free (non-nutritional) foods to 3 servings per day. Ie., fat free cool whip, sugar free jello, salsa... Otherwise, you need to count them.
