  • I like reality competitions so I’ve been watching Zumbo’s Just Desserts on Netflix and I’m not even a huge sweets person but whew do I crave whatever chocolatey caramel cheesecake concoction they’ve come up whenever I’m binge watching. Had to stock up on Skinny Cow ice cream for emergencies because of that show…
  • Right there with you! People always say losing weight during the winter is hard but holy hell it’s worse during the summer time. Parties, grilling, cocktails. The desire to just ENJOY yourself is overwhelming. I’ve realized things like hot dogs, chips and salsa, and lean beef patties are not that bad calorie wise. Look up…
  • Good job on getting started. Counting calories will work! Don’t give up. Feel free to add me. :)
  • I go by my boyfriend’s scale because that is what I started tracking my weight on. My own scale, which I bought a few a weeks into this, is consistently 1-2 lbs heavier. Same brand, but mine is glass. Although I do have mental goals of getting to certain numbers I don’t really care about the fluctuations because I’ve lost…
  • Literally my main motivation is cute clothes. I want to wear high waisted jeans without feeling like I have a FUPA.
  • Unless I’m missing something that sounds like an awful combination. :s
  • Turkey dogs, lean beef patties and chicken breast for me. I like a lot of sides so I’m saving most of my calories for that.
  • Thanks for this thread! Had the brownie batter today. Delicious!
  • Agreed. I also weigh myself daily and I think I’m more sane this way. I went about 2 weeks of good eating and exercise without losing any weight and I think if I did the once a week weigh in thing, I’d have been way more bummed out expecting to see a loss and not getting one. Because I weigh myself daily, I was more…
  • Not avoiding mirrors. Not wearing a cardigan in the summer to hide my arms. Dresses that aren’t maxi dresses because I have to hide my legs. Not avoiding pictures with my friends and family. Not being as self conscious at the pool.
  • Diet soda :# Makes me feel full and like I got my “something sweet” fix.
  • Going through the same thing. Just yesterday I was eating shredded chicken, half a chopped avocado, and some salsa over 1/2 cup of rice and my coworker said “are you eating a burrito bowl? I thought you were on a diet”. I just laughed and said “This is 250 calories, did you want the recipe?”. I have another one constantly…
  • I can't fathom being anything below 125. That's the point where I know for sure that I will absolutely be done with trying to drop a few more pounds. For others, there's no specific weight. I just hate seeing a person who literally looks like skin and bones. When I see bones protruding, it literally makes me cringe. It's…
  • I don't own a scale, but I work in an office where we weight all of our patients on digital scales, so those are the ones I've always used. One scale says I'm 2 pounds less than the other. Once, I stepped on the scale and it showed I lost 6 pounds from the day before. I knew it was wrong before I even let myself get…
  • Never been a huge fan of sweets. I do like chocolate every now and then, but I can live without it. Whenever I see glazed donuts in the break room, I can't help but think..."ew!". All that sickly sweet sugar would make me want to throw up. My weakness is fried foods, like chicken strips and french fries.
  • I never really had saddlebags until I lost weight. I also call them "fat pockets". How funny. Try squats! I made a goal to do 100 squats every day and 100 squats every night and after 2 weeks I can already see a difference.
  • I've tried the skinny wrap and it didn't work. I would go for the tuck.
  • What's wrong with Panera? It's soup and sandwiches. They have all their calories listed on the menu, too. I love that place.
  • I'm not a breakfast eater and never will be. I'm just not hungry in the mornings and it actually upsets my stomach most times when I have anything other than a piece of fruit.
  • I don't have cheat "days" but I feel awesome and satisfied after my cheat meal. I would lose my mind and say eff this lifestyle if I couldn't enjoy pizza every now and then. Infact, I had two slices of Chuck E Cheese pizza and a slice of chocolate cake for at my daughter's birthday party yesterday and it was yummy and I…
  • I know exactly what you mean, as I've been on both sides. At 180 pounds, I was always shocked and embarrassed every time I was tagged in a FB photo or caught my reflection in a full length mirror. I think I saw myself as being somewhere around 160 pounds. At 145, I still do a double take when I see my reflection, but only…
  • I don't get comments like "No thanks...I'll stick to *some other kind of ice cream* instead". If that's the case...BYE! Why bother commenting at all unless you've actually tried it or are interested in trying it? My goodness. ANYWAY. I have tried the chocolate and strawberry flavors and they were disgusting and not worth…
  • I drink Diet Pepsi every now and then and it's not a problem for me. I don't really have a sweet tooth, though, so I never really crave donuts or candy and having a diet soda isn't going to suddenly make me want something like that. I drink Diet Pepsi because I do crave soda at times.
  • Though my loss is not as much as your's, I can relate. I've lost 36 pounds and have just now went down a single pant size. It is definitely frustrating. I'm 145 and was a size 11 (a size 13 on the worst days) and now I'm a size 9. I don't mind having curves, and my legs and *kitten* definitely look a lot better than they…
  • Yes, MFP (or the idea of calorie counting, really) gave me an unhealthy obsession and I had to stop. I still pay attention to calories, but I don't log my food and haven't in about a month and a half. My weight loss is still steady and I feel much happier and more mentally stable.
  • I am a late eater. When I was a kid, we sometimes wouldn't eat dinner until 9 or 10. I just can't eat dinner at 5 and be okay for the rest of the night. I cook around 8 and save room for a snack before bed at 10. It hasn't affected my weight loss and probably keeps me from stuffing my face with something I shouldn't at…
  • Yep, but for me, there are days when I'm absolutely ravenous and days where I don't even want to think about food. I tend to make myself not worry about it. I eat when I'm hungry and don't eat when I'm not.
