Just had my last day as a med-surg RN and about to start work as a Family Psychiatric NP. So ready to stop working 12 hour shifts!

I guess you are hungry because you are not eating enough to support all the calories you are burning. Have you tried calculating your TDEE? Maybe you're body is desperately holding on because you're in starvation mode? Anyway, congrats to you for coming back even though there are aspects that frustrate you. And good for…

Add me! Add me! thanks for posting this!

Running is my meditation, time spent in the woods enjoying nature, and great way to exercise with my best training partners--my dogs. I don't get too hung up on going faster or further. I get out, I go for as long (or short) as I feel I can and I try to enjoy myself. It's spiritual for me. It's my "me" time. I don't listen…

There will always be people who appear to "have it all" through little to no effort. But, if she really eats junk food then she's probably not all that healthy and her insides might not look so great...Better to focus on yourself.

Great post! Thanks. I feel good about my chocolate breakfast...

I had a similar experience after running my last 1/2... I think I over-trained and I definitely needed a break. Well, I took a break and still found myself unmotivated. I tried doing some different exercise like power lifting and zumba classes at the gym. When I finally got back into running, the other classes made it much…

Great vid! Really inspiring!

Please count me in!

I say do both! Steady state will increase your endurance and is a slow fat burn while building muscles and toning. HIIT also helps with your endurance but is more effective is you are consistently working out. Good luck!

You're right about that dress--it's gorgeous and you are gorgeous in it. Congratulations for your hard work--it's paying off.

Women tend to get dark circles under their eyes as we age because the skin there (and everywhere) thins and the blood vessels are more visible, giving a dark look. At 18 that shouldn't be the explanation for you. My guess is that it's a matter of nutrition. Could you be anemic? How is your iron intake? You may consider a…

I don't think that people aren't reading your post, they're responding to your frustration. If you're at goal but still on the site, theres a reason, right?

I think the best thing you can do is support her, love her up and be an excellent role model for her and your family. As you probably know, we are on this journey for ourselves and we can't really do it for anyone else.

I have a go-to cod dish I make frequently: cook the cod in the oven with fresh tomatoes, black olives, onion and a bit of garlic. For sides, mashed potatoes and some kind of sauteed greens. Pretty healthy, low fat and you can switch the potatoes for mock mashed cauliflower if you're low carb.

I'm 47 and things only got better for me since turning 40. I watched my Mom bum out at every birthday and made a decision early on to embrace my age. Find some great older role models and start living it up! You're probably wiser, more self-confident and sure of yourself now than you've ever been. So, Happy birthday!

No need to apologize! Congratulations, you've worked hard and it shows.

Very inspiring, thanks for your honesty. And you have a beautiful family, they must be so proud of you!

Hey _skinnydreaming! I'm British, too. Well, half British, grew up in East Anglia.

I'm from East Anglia and living in the U.S. now.

My main issue with the diet sodas are the chemicals. I try not to have any artificial sweeteners as they have been linked to a host of health problems including memory issues, arthritis and joint pain and cancers. Then there's the argument that they actually precipitate sweet binges rather than satisfy the urge for sweet…

I'm sorry you're having a hard time, I've been there and will be again. Here are a few things I do: go for a walk, not for exercise, just to clear my head and step away from the fridge. That also gives me time to think about what's going on because for me, it's often not about the food or feeling hungry it's about anger,…

I was in this same situation. I had a suspicious looking, possibly bulls eye looking rash and so called my MD for the Doxycycline immediately. Lymes is no joke! I took the anti-biotic for 10 days, too. (That stuff is nasty! Do not follow the directions to take it on an empty stomach--nausea! Plus, my pharmacist instructed…

I took a quick peek at your food diary. I think you could probably mix it up and actually eat more volume and stick to your calories. Do you like vegetables? You could eat a large and satisfying salad for one of your meals. Also, you hadn't charted any water--this helps a lot. It's filling and sometimes we think we're…

Incredible! Some really great food photography, too! I just had one of my faves: roasted root vegetable salad with quinoa and I still found myself salivating at those shots. Very talented.

Great job!

Sometimes I struggle with motivation, too. I try to think about how I feel when I'm done, if that doesn't work, I'll try to talk myself into just going for five minutes which usually turns into a full run. I also use my running time as alone time and meditation. I don't listen to music or bring my phone and I often run in…

Once at the gym while I was on a stair climber, a guy walked over and said, "You look like a movie star!" Smiling, I said, "Oh, yeah? Who?" "Roseanne Barr." Thanks a lot.

Happy to report I lost 1lb this week, too! Thanks!

You might try upping your calories. Scary, I know. But if you are working that hard and eating so few calories, your body might be desperately hanging on because it thinks you're heading for starvation... Also, try upping your water to 3 liters per day. Good luck, sounds like you're on the right path!
