I really need support! (anyone whose having success please)

Hi guys!
So to start out hi I'm Kaydee I'm 5'4 and about 155lb. I'm pretty active, I run for 45min at least 3 times a week and do random weight lifting/fitness classes 3 times a week. I'm also a dietetics major so I know a lot about healthy foods and such.
About 4 years ago I lost over 30lb using myfitnesspal counting calories and doing light exercising. I may have also starved myself a bit too much always only aiming for 1,200 calories never over. I then went to college 3 years ago and since college I've just been gaining weight but really increasing my exercise, sometimes to over 3 hours a day. But its never been consistent, some days I wouldn't exercise at all.
Anyways so I gained all the weight back, but got stronger with that, but I am definitely not where I want my weight to be. What should I do to address this?
Using my fitnesspal now however seems like such a chore, and not only a chore, it makes me CONSTANTLY think about food. I also do not believe 1200 calories is enough, I have the largest appetite ever/always and its pretty much always a consistent high appetite.
Help guys, I'm going into my senior year of college and I just want to be free of thinking of food and my weight! I just keep trying to eat intuitively but it's not working and I just end up cam paring myself to everyone around me. Should I consider to use myfitnesspal seriously again? Does anyone else feel this way?:noway:

Add me for support! I'm trying 1200 cal a day and 50% of the cal I burn I can eat..I'm 5'6" and want to lose about 60 lbs.0

Have you got a fitbit? I love mine. It's helped me get a better sense of how much I move and what I am burning for calories, and therefore how much I should be eating.0

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal

I do have a fitbit but do you feel the calorie adjustment is too much or just right to lose weight? It always extremely added calories to my daily needs!0

1200 calories a day is huge deficit, you should be losing about 2lbs a week. Why don't you try a higher calorie intake and aim for 1lb a week? It sound's like you are getting enough exercise... I really struggle with the food side of things and when I was eating 1200 calories a day I felt terrible, grumpy and tired all of the time I just don't think it's worth it.0

I guess you are hungry because you are not eating enough to support all the calories you are burning. Have you tried calculating your TDEE? Maybe you're body is desperately holding on because you're in starvation mode? Anyway, congrats to you for coming back even though there are aspects that frustrate you. And good for you for coming back stronger and fitter.0

Well, I am set for sedentary and have been adding in exercise to my daily life, plus eating 1500-1800 cal/day (usually on the lower end, unless I am hungry and eating back some calories.) I watch the fitbit cals, but I try to stick with the calorie range regardless of what fitbit is saying just in case it is running high. I am losing 1.5-2lbs per week, but bear in mind that I am much heavier than you and it seems that larger people lose more at first?

It seems to me that you've answered your own question.
If your head isn't in the game then why bother? You have to be able to dedicate yourself to the idea of losing weight and maintain that idea, otherwise you're just wasting your time.0 -
Yes, tracking is a chore, but it is really eye opening. And it's not just about staying within a certain calorie limit, but what is making up those calories. Are you eating fresh foods or pre-packaged?
Planning ahead has really worked for me. I take a couple of hours out of my Sunday to shop and prepare all my food for the week. I pre-pack everything into containers that are the serving size for the calories I want to eat. I don't eyeball anything, I invested in a good scale, measuring cups and spoons.
I don't kill myself working out, I have a fitbit and walk between 10-15k steps a day. 1200 calories a day I lose on average about 1.8 pounds a week.
It takes the body 6 weeks to adjust to new habits, you need to give yourself time to settle into the new way of doing things. And instead of changing a lot of things at once. Try changing one.
At the end of the day, u have to play with things until you find the way that works best for your body, your metabolic make-up and comfort.0
