This is Christine Cronau's response Sensational headlines! Meat and Cheese Linked to Earlier Death! Or, are they? Every few years, there is a new study that claims that animal protein is bad for us, but every single one of those studies has been faulty. Two years ago it was claimed that eating more meat caused more death…

A good time is one where you have given it your 100%. In your race you'll find you'll be able to go faster then you normally run, all that adrenalin and other runners really push you to go harder and faster

Just did body attack and grit strength where we do a significant number of them, so I feel i have achieved this

If you set it up, and are honest with yourself, weigh and measure food, it works great, just got to keep at it...

Buy dried chickpeas and kidney beans and cook them yourself, they are healthy and cheap, can be added to lots of meals, casseroles, salads etc to increase the protein content of meals.

You are sore because you created micro tears in the muscles, which will heal and grow stronger muscle. However, if you were that sore you have overdone it, but the next time you go you shouldn't get as sore as your muscles have gotten stronger. Being the weight you are you want to do what other posters have said and don't…

Just before I fall asleep it is usually around 50, sometimes as low as 44, when I wake up around 56-60, once I kept my heart rate monitor on and the average was 50.

Not sure if it is mentioned before, but for wellingtonians Moore wilson's have Sujon berries, they have a huge range, inc cherries and rhubarb, as well as the usual blue, black, rasp etc berries. Much cheaper then in the supermarket.

I ike mine, I have 35 g oats, a teaspoon each of chia, sunflower, pumpkin and flaxseed, 60 g of blueberries, 1 serve of vanilla protein powder and 150 ml of unsweetened natural yoghurt, I add a little water and soak it overnight. No added sugar, provides 400 calories, including 34 g of protein. It may be an acquired taste…

The no time for cooking also reminds me of this Those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness - quote by Edward Stanley You could substitute exercise with cooking/food preparation.... I think it is important to remember that most food manufacturers are only interesting in…

I don't remember where the link is, but I have read somewhere an academic article/research that found that repeated reps like in bodypump of weights that challenge you does indeed build muscle.... Maybe someone else remembers this too, I think it was posted in myfitnesspal. This link shows some photos of evidence of that,…

Someone at my gym wears this too, he is one of the top triathletes here in New Zealand. Must be making him bike faster and breathe more efficiently when he races.

I wasn't looking at getting the les mills DVDs, they weren't out 2 years ago, but thought about getting turbo fire and/or Chalean extreme. I'm glad I didn't though and joined the gym instead. However if you haven't got a gym nearby beach body have some very good workout programs.
-
I'm sure beach body will send them to the uk, before I started at he gym I enquired if they would send them to nz and they said they would.

Body pump class and 8 km walk outside.
-
For pump you need a bar and some weights, not much else. As you get stronger you can buy more weights to put on the bar. To start with you need 2 of each of 2,5,10 pounds I think. If you buy the DVD set in the USA I think you get the weights set with it.

I go to a les mills here in new Zealand and really love their classes, I do body pump 3 times a week and body attack about 2-3 times a week depending on my roster. If you haven't got it at your gym request it, surely the more requests they have they may start to realise that it would be good for them.

For a more helpful answer check out bodybuilding.com There are a lot of programs you see from what others have done and what results they have gotten from them. They also have people who they do a feature on (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/women.htm), and it shows you what exercises, diet, and supplements they used to get…

I wouldn't log it, also wouldn't recommend wearing a heart rate monitor as the calorie algorhythm it uses is based on sustained aerobic exercise, such as walking (constantly without stopping), running, swimming, biking etc. HRM also aren't accurate for weight training for that same reason as that is a stop start activity.

I soak mine in yoghurt too overnight, along with chia, sunflower, pumpkin and sesame seeds, and a some dried cranberries and frozen blueberries, very very yummy and nutritious.

You would most likely have lost a lot more then just inches, most people loose a combination of fat and muscle when they lose weight. To look trimmer and more toned you should do weight training, this will also lower the amount of muscle that you lose as you lose weight. Eat sensibly, have plenty of protein and fresh…

I live in NZ and go to Les Mills, absolutely love the classes I do there, it is about US$80 per month, but unfortunately nothing is cheap here (the cheapest 24 hr gyms are about US$38), we pay for living on the other side of the world.
-
Been doing bodypump for 1 year now, in NZ we have kgs, and the bar I use is 5kg, to that I add 2.5 kg each side for warm-up, 10kg each side for squat track, 7.5 kg each side for chest, 6 kg each side for backtrack (my fore arms always end up getting sore so I drop my weight, as the instructors here always says to increase…

If you are on statins (to lower cholesterol) it could be something serious like an adverse drug reaction, if so see your Dr. Prob not a bad idea to see your dr anyways as I've not heard of someone staying really sore for so long.

Bump to watch later Also saw no one has mentioned Sugar the bitter truth, another very interesting lecture/documentary

Just saw this somewhere, Keep calm, and keep running. Good luck

I have just done my fifth day of fasting. I do it for both the weightloss and health benefits you get from fasting. I do two 24 hr fasts a week, usually from about 3 pm one day to 3 pm the next day, so that way you don't go without food for a whole day. There are different types of fasting. The program from the BBC, Eat,…
