How awful. Send a letter to your local paper. that i a great suggestion.

I was signed up for a triathlon today but the swim was cancelled so they substituted a mile and a half run. So I did 4.6 miles today, total.
-
No swim for us today either: they called the swim at 7 a.m. So it was a duathlon, run-bike-run. Finished in about 1:32 and change. Riptides. The rain held off here so we raced in a slight drizzle for parts of it but I finished in sunshine.

I did 1.66 miles this morning as a taper for my triathlon on Sunday.

Mine is a Kinetic which I bought online after looking at it in my local bike shop. It's got a sealed fluid chamber and it is SUPER quiet, which means I can use it at 5:30 in the morning inside the house. It was a bit pricey but I got a good deal on it on-line (www.all3sports.com). I bought the accessories at my local bike…

No run today. I swam instead.

Good luck on Saturday! I'm so glad you are so excited about it. Please let me know how it went.

I just checked the weather since we'll be in Lewes, DE for the tri. Windy tomorrow here, cloudy and rainy all weekend on the shore. I just finished 7 miles on my bike trainer. Oh, the jersey is from my triathlon club. I wear it in races to promote cheering for me. Cotton is the enemy when you are working out.…

I did 2.2 miles in 20 minutes on my treadmill. Then, I spent 30 minutes on my bike trainer.

Sunday will be my 4th triathlon of the season. My next one won't be until May. I'm still doing the Seagull. I'm just going to skip the last long ride (I was going to do an 80 mile ride this week) and try to smile my way through it.
-
I'll only be biking twice this week: a short ride and then the triathlon on Sunday, so my goal is less than 30 miles. Good luck on Saturday, Shore! Have fun in Mexico Dothompson! Sounds like a great ride.

I did a 5K in 27:20, my fastest time yet!
-
Wow!!!!! Way to go!!! Rock on, girlfriend!
-
Thanks for all the support, guys. I got back on my bike today after running a 5K. I rode home from the race, so I got another 10 miles in. I feel a little bit better. I think I'll do the century but I'll skip the long ride next week so I don't get so discouraged. Total this week: 95.2 miles. Not quite 100, but close enough…

I have returned from my 76.7 mile ride. It was brutal. This was the hardest ride I have ever done. The wind was literally in my face or coming at me from the side every minute of the ride. I felt like crying the entire last 27 miles. My participation in the Seagull century is up the air now: I did not have fun today. first…

Good luck tomorrow! Post a race report!

I'm jealous, Shore. It's pretty. I'm getting ready for my 77 mile today. Once my son is on the bus, I'm off. It will be my first ride with my new HRM.

Shorerider: Look at the different bikes in your price range and get whichever one has the highest end components.
-
Great MPH, Shorerider. I'm happy to see your progress.

I don't think you would add the weight of the child if you are using a heart rate monitor. I think the additional exertion will be shown by a reduction in your speed and an increase in your heart rate. I don't factor in the weight of my bike when I ride, so why factor in the toddler's weight? I would ride without pulling…

Goal: 100 miles. 8.5 miles on my bike trainer this morning.
-
I did 72 miles today. Ouch.
-
Great job, Shorerider! Just finished 12 miles on the trainer.

Pizza would be great to eat after the ride; I don't see how you can eat it during the ride.

Try this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRHxHapwirw&feature=related Team Hoyt raced in the Timberman half Ironman that I did last summer. It is truly inspirational.

14.4 miles this morning on my trainer. I'm hoping to get outside and ride on Thursday, then do a long ride on Saturday.

Great job! One thing I've learned from my triathlons is never try something new during the race. Training involves not only your muscles and the distance, but your nutrition, so practice your nutrition during your training. I've got my first century on October 4, so I truly appreciate the words of wisdom. I'll take…

Hail to the Redskins!

My husband and I just got back from a 67 mile ride on this beautiful day! That puts me at 93.1 miles this week.
