Good Morning Ladies, I'd be happy to join in. My goal would be 20 lbs by August 30th my 24th wedding anniversary. I think that would be the best present I could give my hubby. I think it will be a hard battle for me, but I'm willing to try. Since April, when my doc said loose weight, control the blood sugar, or we are…

It sounds like you have come to terms with your past, or at the very least it's out in the open and now you can heal and become the person you want to be. Our past experiences can influence who we…

I can totally relate. I have been loosing the same 5 pounds for the past 4 weeks. The good news is that I have lost a couple of inches around the waist and hips, which is great, I just wish the scale would reflect all the hard work. I never realized how much effect sodium had on my body until just a couple of weeks…

I force myself to work out in the morning, otherwise I get too tired to work out in the evening and then I don't do it all. But I agree with the others that whenever you can fit it in, it's better than not doing anything at all.

Good afternoon everyone, I hope everyone is having a great day. Personally I've had the week from down under! I've been working 12 hour days all week and looking very forward to 5:00 today! I only worked out 3 days instead of my usual every day and eating has been anything I can eat in the car, which means nothing healthy.…

Good Morning Everyone, I hope everyone had a great morning! I started out by exercising at the gym this morning, set the morning right. Unfortunately every time I look at the scale the numbers aren't going down. So now I'm not going to look at the scale anymore, I'm going to go by how I feel and right now I have more…

Hi everyone, I'm new to this particular topic board, thought I would give it a try! I've been struggling with weight loss for the past few weeks. I work out 6 days a week - walk everyday, strength training 2-3 times a week - and I haven't lost any weight. Down 2 up 1, etc. I'm diabetic, have a thyroid problem and am on…

:flowerforyou: jojo congrats on being in remission! I forgot about the hot flashes! I am really struggling to loose weight as well, I just look forward to the day I am done with this medication.

For me, I made the decision that it was necessary for my health. I know some women who have elected not to go on it because of the side effects. This is from the Web MD site: Tamoxifen is prescribed for different reasons, including the following: treatment of advanced, early stage, and invasive breast cancer following…

I feel your pain! I have been on Tamoxifin for 4 years. I have one more year to go and then I'm done. Four years ago they found a lump in my breast which turned out to be non-cancerous, but when they biopsy the area the found LCIS (cells that have the tendency to become cancerous) so I was put on tamoxifin for a five year…

Thank you for the reminder. I started going back to the gym 3 weeks ago. I go 6 times a week cardio everyday and circuit training every other day. I do my best to eat all my calories, some days are better than others. I feel the difference in my body but I'm not seeing the results on the scale. It's very frustrating! My…

:flowerforyou: Cheer up, we all have days (sometimes weekends) like that. I had a wedding Friday night (lots of food and a couple of drinks too.) Then the bride and groom had a get together at their house the following day which included lots of carb loaded salads (yum), hamburgers, hot dogs and lobsters (of which I had…

Sharon, Good for you! I quit cold turkey over 20 years ago when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted a healthy baby so this is how I did it: I taped my baby's ultrasound picture and a picture of a healthy lung and one of a smoker on my refrigerator. Every time I wanted a cigarette I looked at those pictures. I know it's…

Thank you, that was a great article. I've been struggling as well - down a pound up a pound. I feel better though, and my husband keeps telling me he is seeing a difference. So, I'm not going to weigh myself for a couple of weeks and just keep doing what I've been doing and go from there. Hang in there the weight will…

:flowerforyou: Welcome! You have done very well so far and I know that you will loose the weight you want to. Remember you didn't gain it in a week, so it won't come off in a week! Keeping the food and exercise log has been instrumental so far for me. Since starting this a few weeks ago, I've lost some weight, but more…

 Yeah! I'm right there with you. I'm from Mass and I swear it's been the dreariest winter ever. I wouldn't have minded some of the snow that norther N.E. got, but we got all rain, blah. The sunshine just makes you feel better. Funny I too have a cold, I think it's winter's last clutches. Feel better!

:flowerforyou: Welcome! I've been on this site for about a month. Everyone is very nice and helpful. There is lots of information available and no question is too dumb! The post about the various stages of weight loss is extremely helpful. I lost 6 pounds in the first 7-10 days and then nothing until today, when I lost 2…

Thank you for your responses. I did a quick search online for it and didn't find anything conclusive. All I know is that after the first work out, and for about an hour after, my arms were still feeling it! I guess in the long run it doesn't matter how exact it is, as long as your doing something good for yourself. Thanks…

Hello, I'm new to this exercise thing and have a question: A few weeks ago I started walking @5 times a week. This weekend I've decided to add some form of strength training so I picked up one of those resistance band kits (Band and video) and I started doing that. I wanted to add it to my exercise for the day, but I'm not…

Are you in New England? Because I have the same problem today. I'm so sick of this dreary weather!:grumble:

 This is Bear and we rescued him about 8 years ago. Drove in a heavy snow storm to get him in North Conway, NH, and we live on the south shore of Mass. He will be 11 in May, black lab and just as cute as can be and he definitely rules the house!

Hi , I'm pretty new to www.myfitnesspal.com. I've been trying the site for a couple of weeks and so far so good. I've tried to really be honest about the food and calories and it's amazing what keeping track of what you eat will do for you! It's a great motivator.
