  • It's great to have your encouragement and excitement back! Glad you had a wonderful time!
  • Congratulations! You must have an awful lot to say...
  • I do the same thing! I do try to hide it, sometimes it can contort one's face into something far less than attractive. Oral fixation? YES! I used to smoke, and when I quit that, I started eating all the time. Now that I'm trying to quit that, I shudder to think what I will replace it with. I also have chewed gum every day…
  • I've been going through the exact same thing for the past week. I start off my day with a great, healthy breakfast. Then something or another happens and I end up in the ice cream. I actually went over my calories by 1000+ yesterday. That's right! One thousand plus! (Most of that was beer.) It is SO HARD to get back on…
  • Does anyone know if this is harmful? Say you have had a couple, and then you (hypothetically, of course) start dancing like a freak so hard that you work up a sweat and you find yourself in your target HR zone for 10-15-20 minutes or so. :blushing: What happens to your body? Do you still get the same benefits of the…
  • Well I'm the kind of chick that thrives on other's negative viewpoints. If I think even for a SECOND that someone doesn't think I'm good enough or strong enough, then I will set out to prove them wrong! I definitely have a steam-driven way of approaching my goals. I channel the energy I create through anger into getting my…
  • Yoga rocks! I don't take classes, but I have "Yoga cards" which show you the poses, and the basic stances in order to get INTO those poses. (I've gotten stuck once or twice with my legs behind my ears) but I find it a great form of meditation! I like to combine yago with my balance ball. I keep typing "yago" instead of…
  • ...this is my new version of the word FAT. I am trying to accept that word, but it's difficult, as it generally is only used to make someone feel ashamed or disgusting. Right now, at this very moment and this point in time, I am trying to work on *#! acceptance. I am trying to love myself and accept myself, not DESPITE my…

  • Well, after I posted that last bit about launching off the wagon, I did it again. I won't go into the horrible details - I want to save you all the nightmares! So here I am, back where I started. I honestly think I put on 5 pounds, guys. So as for the weigh-in tomorrow, I'm really nervous. Hmpf. :grumble: Well, good for…
  • Guys, I am back. I don't know if anyone even noticed I was gone, but I CATAPULTED off the wagon for the last three days!!! I am so disgusted with myself. I feel like I have gained 10 pounds. I am worried that it's too late - that I have already ruined any progress I made, and now I have to start all over again! I haven't…
  • ISFJ Introverted - 44% Sensing - 1% Feeling - 25% Judging - 1% I love this kind of thing! I am more interested in analyzing the WHY than the WHAT. That's why I took Sociology. This analysis was very accurate. If no one has watched it yet, I strongly recommend the movie "What The BLEEP Do We Know?" It's about quantum…
  • That was a great idea, shoerider! I definitely prefer knowing how my body deals with these things. It would help for everyone to read this so they can have an idea of how it all works, and that way form a better regimen for themselves. You were right about that ending line!
  • I'm scared to weigh in this week guys... tomorrow is the big day! Hey, does anyone want to do measurements? I decided that for me, that might be a little more accurate than weight. We could do a mix of the two, maybe. So just a suggestion... it's best to weigh before breakfast in the morning, naked!
  • I have a mini stepper machine - it has a screen that tells you how many steps, how many calories you burn, and how long you are on it. It is GREAT cardio! I have never had anything get my heart pumping as fast as that machine! :noway: It really works out your legs, too. I feel the burn within one minute of being on it.…
  • Well, my mistake. I guess with Subway I just always thought their vegetables look withered and used. http://www.healthcastle.com/veggies_fresh_frozen.shtml

  • Bump. I'm curious to see if anyone else will post their bingeing triggers or experiences.
  • Also take into account the fact that Subway often does not use fresh vegetables. A lot of the time they have been frozen and then thawed. That will strip a lot of the nutrients from that stuff. I think it also depends on the type of bread you use. There are a lot of complex carbs in bread!…

  • That may have something to do with warm-up and cool-down. If you were only 20 minutes in-zone, then it may have taken you 15-20 minutes to reach that 80-90%. That's okay! You don't want to stay up in that range for too incredibly long, it can have adverse effects. I don't know what type of HRM you use, but my guess would…
  • That's really cool! I use honey for EVERYTHING! I love the fact that it has benefits. I know how to make a cough syrup from honey. I use it on a daily basis just because. I always buy locally, too. I have always had a dream to one day be a beekeeper. Those little guys do so much for this earth! Great topic!

  • Stress and anger, of course. Depression. The strangest thing for me, though - I binge a lot when I am happy or excited. If I am having a really good day, I want to celebrate or reward myself with food. I find comfort in it no matter what kind of mood I am in... so it's REALLY hard to stop. I've been doing really great…
  • Why don't men wear tight underwear? It cuts off circulation to the brain! Why do men die before their wives? They should. What is the difference between men and women? A woman wants one man to satisfy her every need........ A man wants every woman to satisfy his one need What's the most common cause of hearing loss amongst…
  • Well, I don't know if anyone has heard of Kum&Go gas station, but they have the greatest cappucinos where I live. I used to drink a couple a day - but then I got on this kick where I decided to quit all of my addictions. I'm happy to say that I can now enjoy the occasional cappucino without going crazy with it. So I want…

  • I also sit on mine. I have two, and have been using them both in place of chairs or couches for quite some time. It will help strengthen your core and I believe someone else may have mentioned that it helps with posture. Mine came with a chart which I have posted on my wall, and I bought a video to watch, as well. You can…
  • Thanx! That's pretty cool - guess I missed out by not participating on the boards yesterday!
  • I noticed some people had posted progress charts with how many pounds they had lost and cute little markers. How does a person make or find one of those? I've looked all over this site, so unless I'm not looking in the right places....
  • It hurts while your getting it done, of course. Then for a couple of days afterward, your tongue will be swollen and sore. You won't be able to have anything citrus for awhile, and no kissing or oral sex. No dairy for a little while, either. You wouldn't want it getting infected! After about the first week, your…
  • HOLY CRAP!
  • I have one tattoo that was a regrettable incident during a drunken night. I designed it - and it looks like crap because it's on my left shoulder blade, so I wasn't the one who actually inked it! I was *smart* enough to let my drunk friend do it. :ohwell: I used to have a lot of piercings... I had my labret (which I…
