  • They will fade with time, but always be there I'm afraid. I have my fair share from my teens and two pregnancies. Mine are all Silvery/faded now. Bio oil takes the redness out of them, that's all.
  • The only time I had this was after coming off the pill. I'd been on it for over ten years before stopping it to try for our first child. It took about nine months for my body to settle down and for me to get pregnant. It probably didn't help I was having a stressful situation with changing jobs at the time either.
  • Have you had children yourself? Usually by three months, if not regularly breastfeeding then a mother's milk supply will have dried up. Trying to get your supply back purely for the purposes of losing weight is just ridiculous.
  • Just to add, by making small changes like only having a very small deficit, I can still eat the foods I enjoy without feeling deprived and still lose weight.
  • I've stopped setting unrealistic expectations of myself. Instead of trying to make radical changes and lose the weight overnight, I've been making small changes I can sustain over time. For the first time in my life I actually stayed the same weight over Christmas and new year, so this is a huge difference for me!
  • Giving up comfort food can make you feel depressed because then you have to face up to the things that are really bothering you rather than hiding your feelings behind binge eating and hating yourself because of it. For myself, I actually just found out I was really tired in the evening when I usually had a binge so…
  • Agree with this totally. Personally if I want a burger I have one. I make it fit in my calories, even if that means increasing the number of calories I have that day. Going over a couple of hundred calories a few times a month is better than feeling deprived and binging, then giving up. Which is what I've done in the past.
  • Start small. If it's all too much to keep doing change one thing at a time, then once you get into the hang of it, change something else.
  • Scrap the gym. Exercise at home or outdoors. I haven't set foot inside a gym for three years and still exercise daily. There's a website that used to be called a girl called jack. I can't remember what it's called now. But it's all about trying to eat well on a really tight budget. Lots of great recipes and ideas on I.
  • Ok, probably quite high demand for their recruitment then. I'm police staff in Cheshire and our bleep test isn't that high.
  • Totally agree with distinctlybeautiful. Start slow and work your way down. This is what I'm doing currently. I've recently read Intuitive Eating, which is a brilliant book for help around binge eating. It's been really helpful for me, can't speak highly enough of it.
  • Really interesting to see every one's different memories and goals. 2015 was a huge year for me and in all honesty I'm hoping 2016 is a bit more relaxed. My memories from this year are 1)Having my second baby boy Thomas in May 2)The recovery from a horrible pregnancy with Thomas (including facial paralysis, a csection and…
  • Just reinforcing some of what has been said already. It's about finding a compromise about what you are prepared to change and what results you expect to achieve in exchange for that. I've had a lot of issues with binge eating due to feeling deprived and I'm currently working my way through those issues. My calories are…
  • To be fair to slimming world, they don't really recommend eating 'free' food until you're stuffed. They do stress the point of eating enough to satisfy your appetite, not just for the sake of it because it's free. I have a lot of respect for the idea behind slimming world, because it does encourage healthy eating. I just…
  • I have two boys under three, my youngest is seven months old. I also work part time evenings so rarely get time to myself in the evening. For me it's a matter of being realistic and doing what I can. It doesn't have to be perfect. I eat anything as long as it fits in my calories. Usually I find eating the same as my eldest…
  • I'm 5'1, and can lose on 1800 cals a day walking 3 miles a day. I always recommend starting off high and only reducing the amount of calories if weight loss stops. On 1200 cals I personally feel too deprived, which leads me to binge. So it's not sustainable for me long term.
  • Is this for a UK force? 9.2 sounds very high, which force was this with?
  • All progress is progress. It's not a race. Look at it another way, you could have done absolutely nothing last year and lost no weight at all. You've done brilliantly to lose as much weight as you have done. Keep going!
  • Scare tactics don't work for everyone unfortunately. My In law's have been morbidly obese for the 15 years I've known them. They have been told many a time that all their health problems were as a result of their weight, but it never inspired them to change. Even when my MIL was immobile due to her joints being unable to…
  • I'm not a medically trained professional, but I don't really agree with what your counsellor has suggested. If you have around 8 stone to lose, then 1500 cals a day is a pretty steap deficit to begin. I'd recommend working down to that level gradually over time. Start just tracking what you eat without sticking to any…
  • It has nothing to do with how much you actually burn during the work out. By strength training you require extra energy to repair and build your muscles. During cardio, you burn so many calories. During strength training you burn the calories during the work out and then continue to burn at a higher rate while your body…
  • Unfortunately for some people dieting is a hobby. One they might not be particularly gifted at but they enjoy nevertheless. It's something they want to talk about and share with others, in the same way you'd talk about books you like to read, what was on telly last night or how your team did at the weekend etc If I get…
  • If you have the calories for it and want it, then eat it I say!
  • I've recently started reading a book called intuitive eating. It's been really helpful for me regarding binge eating etc. I'd really recommend reading it for any one struggling with binges etc. I'm a big advocate of not restricting. The second you tell yourself you can't or shouldn't eat something, that's when the binge…
  • I'm currently on maternity leave and will be a kind of Sahm soon as I go back to work part time in the evenings. I find it easier when I'm at home compared to work. I'm always busy and active where as when I was in work I was sat down all day and picked out of boredom. Also there is no eating anything in front of my eldest…
  • My stomach is beyond all hope frankly. I was overweight with both pregnancies, and had two large babies as well as two csections. In my second pregnancy my stomach muscles separated and it's only now I'm six months post partum I'm able to actually do strenuous exercise. I'm realistic. I know a tummy tuck is the only way to…
  • God yes, it's been a tough week for me too! But we've got this far through it. We can do this!
  • Unfortunately, no matter what you do or say, a person can only change when they are ready to. My in law's have both been obese in the 14 years I've known them. Despite both of them having reams of health problems, all weight related, neither has been willing to change. Last year my mil suffered a serious stroke, directly…
  • If you're not comfortable talking about it, try responding with something like the weight has come off as a result of a medical issue. Usually this makes people uncomfortable enough to avoid pushing it any further.
