  • 48 and looking to lose 15 pounds (all the while gaining muscle, losing fat). Fall is settling into the Pacific Northwest (gray, wet, cold) and I could really use some MFP motivation to help keep me on track. Anyone please add me!
  • I get the elbow pain sometimes too. I'm 48 so I take it easy and try to go right to the edge of what I can do and not overdo it as injury is a detour to consistent progress ---and can be discouraging to boot! I'll back off the arms/shoulders, do the moves without any weights, go half the rate of JM, basically modify…
  • Way to go! Tae Bo DVD? I've not heard Tae Bo mentioned in awhile, like Billy Banks (sp?)? And five mile run. Inspiring! Just saw 'Brittany Runs a Marathon' with a couple of mom friends last night, now I'm thinking I want to try to run a race. I've never done one before. I went way over my daily calories yesterday when my…
  • I borrowed a copy from the library. I like it so well I'm going to buy it. Ouch indeed, I think I went too hard with the jumping yesterday. My left knee is all wobbly so it's a rest day. Lost 1.8 pounds so far, and 2.5 inches in my waist. I'm halfway through the shred. Feeling pretty good despite the knee setback!
  • Finally moved up to level 2. It was tough, killer on my shoulders, neck, and knees, but also fun to change up the routine. Have to keep reminding myself to be mindful of pushing to the edge without creating injury. Definitely going to take me longer than 30 days to finish shredding.
  • I am still waiting for anyone I know to compliment me on looking slimmer! :D This is my first time doing BodyShred, when do I know to level up? After 11 days of Level 1, I find it's still pretty challenging, but I feel maybe I should be trying to do Level 2.
  • Aphrodite16uk happy anniversary! Ready to ramp up the shredding now that we're home. We did some lovely light hikes but nothing major. Still a bit afraid to step on the scale, but did measure my waist---2 inch loss in two weeks, huzzah!
  • I fit in day 8 of level 1 today, it does feel easier to me too, so gratifying. We also did a couple of hikes today. Haven't been near a scale but my clothes don't seem as tight! :)
  • 6th day done. Had an unplanned rest day yesterday. Going on holiday for the next five days and going to figure out how to keep on shredding.
  • 2nd day finished. Got a stitch in my right calf but pressed on! Thanks for the community motivation.
  • Me too! Serendipity! I just did the first day of the video this morning and came looking to see if anyone else was starting!
  • Count me in! 5'1" 47, and if I lost 15 pounds I'd be sitting pretty in June! Going to Barcelona and def want to be fitting into a cute swimsuit for this trip! CW: 131.8 GW: 117
  • Starting over after a couple years off MFP. Thank you for starting a challenge for petites! 47yo, 5'1" OSW: 128 CW: 131.8 GW: 125 UGW: 115
  • Picked up amazing, fresh prawns from the local seafood market. First one was with fresh mango and sugar snap peas, the second with tomato and onion. Both with CSA garlic scapes and farmer's market spinach. #summertimeandtheliviniseasy
  • Especially what Cortelli said, deprive yourself nothing and stick to portion control. Eating different yummy foods is one of the highlights of travel. I'd add, put a little time to research restaurants on tripadvisor or guidebooks ahead of your trip and plan out at least a few places you're likely to go to with your group…
  • Thanks, if I list them maybe I'll stop wanting them! Savory: Popeye's spicy fried chicken, Portillo's cheese fries, Home Run Inn sausage and mushroom pizza, french dip sandwich with au jus, dungeness crab Benedict. Sweet: Tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, key lime pie, chocolate croissant (with a cappuccino), kovign iman,…
  • Eating out and celebrating with friends should be a part of everyone's lifestyle---as much a part of healthy living as all the other good choices one makes for their health and well-being! I'd go and order carefully, but I wouldn't order the pad thai unless I was going to share with friends and eat family style and limit…
  • What are the two recipes they love? My kindergartener loves these super simple healthy recipes. 1. Roasted cauliflower, I make sure to toss the cauliflower in a generous amount of olive oil and good quality sea salt and turn the heat up to 400 and cook until a little browned, golden, and crispy on some little edges. They…
  • I had a similar problem, where I ate very little in the morning because I wasn't hungry (partially because my biggest heaviest meal and snacks came later in the day). My personal trainer told me to just eat in the morning, even if I wasn't hungry. She stressed having a good complex carbohydrate like quinoa or oatmeal even…
