I had to change my profile picture from a photo of my delt because (as I should have known better), I got a few back handed remarks about being muscular in private message and on the thread. I'm well aware that isn't everyone's desired physique. I know that few people can dedicate their lives to physique sports etc and I…

I think we have at least one cool troll here!

If I only trained, mentored and coached people with the same goals as me I would be broke on my butt and have to close the doors to my gym. That's a silly mentality. I learn things from all sorts of people!!!

You know very well that this concept is being abused across the board. Even athletes save their "macros" for a pop tart pig out feast at the end of the day. You make not "gain weight" doing this but your pancreas won't be too happy after while. I know it's an easy way for people to start to get it. I was speaking of my own…

I'll check it out! Thanks

I know very well that my goals are different and extreme. Thank you for pointing that out.

Great reply

I'd love to do that

lol I knew there would be at least one of you. No i don't need to vent. My goal is to attract others who feel the same and decide if the few moments of spare time I have are worth trying to help. It's what I love to do: figured this would be a cool place to do it. But with this account and my former one, it never seemed…

Great question. If your referring to my mentioning of "macros" in my first post I don't want to mislead. I follow a certain split for my sport. I do not agree with or follow the "iifym" theory that everyone believes is the new hotness. My quick response to those looking to lose body fat is keeping stable blood sugar while…

That's a relief! I'm very surprised to see anyone agree!

to run as little as possible. haha

You can burn calories doing pretty much anything. I can give you a body weight circuit to do that will leave you crying and sweating. BUT to really change body composition, you must go heavier then that. Remember heavy weight doesnt equal a bulky or "manly" physique, it will only give you the results you have always…

well i would approach it first by looking at your body as a whole, not part by part. Strength training is important for every part of your body. You will be able to tell if you are over exerting yourself. Listen to your body and make smart decisions to protect your joints. I suggest contacting a professional in your area…

I guess i should say that you may offend people who spend their lives TRYING to build muscle. SLOW is the only way. I promise doing your first set of curls will not make you explode.
-
What do you mean slowly?

I have worked with girls who weigh between 90 and 100 lbs but have bodyfat % upwards of 30-35%
-
I am 5'2 and i maintain at 150lbs 15% bodyfat in the "off season" of my sport. I use this example not to share my stats but to show you how little weight really matters. Get down or up to a healthy bodyfat and as long as you feel good weight does not matter.

to extrapolate on the topic it truly does depend on skin elasticity, same with pregnancy. Some women get stretch marks some do not. Not lotion, not anything else. Best of luck on your journey to health

What are your goals?? Do you care to learn about the effects of sugar on your pancreas' secretion of insulin and what happens when insult is elevated? If not, eat the fruit.. Personally I believe in the timing of nutrient - when is it most advantageous to eat what and why. But that can get complicated for most peeps.

To answer the original question - chipotle is always a decent go to. Salads or bol's,

Although I agree with what ninerbuff is saying. I don't believe that's the right advice for the general public. As fitness professionals we are able to handle the idea of macros far better then the average person attempting fitness. Niner- most people lack that self control which is why they are in the position they are…

Hey there. It's likely unrelated to heart lungs etc.. Especially if you have recently incresed activity. Tight intercostal muscles (muscles running between the ribs) can be confused for lung/ chest pain. Can't hurt to get checked if it persists but I see this often with myself and my clients. Especially if we've been…

Internal dialogue effects external performance / outcome. Wake up and tell yourself I'm doing it today. A magazine, book or photo isn't going to help you if you don't want to help you. WANT it first then DO IT. Not because you think you have to but because YOU WANT TO.

The intensity of insanity isn't really conducive for mass gain. I suggest seeking the assistance of a professional to help guide you through strength training until you've learned enough to create your own program safely. Do not just jump into compound movements. Start slow and make sure you have a strong base.

 fantastic response! In addition Don't be afraid to put a little fat on. Fat is muscle sparing and you can always cut down once you have reached your desired muscularity. Gaining LEAN muscle is a feat. Takes years for some. Just eat big lift heavy and sleeeeeep. Sleep is so important.
