Although I am vegetarian (aspiring to be vegan) I don't think its necessary for weight loss. If you are going to do it for the animals thats great and I definitely encourage it :)

I eat regularly throughout the week and whenever I decide to have a cheat day I usually don't count calories. I basically pick the day at random. I don't limit myself. It didn't slow down my weight loss at all :) It was harder for me to stay consistent with what i ate and exercise because i always felt deprived and wanted…

Oh my god. Before you reply you should probably read all the things I have already addressed. I'm leaving this forum, it genuinely cracks me up that people want to defend an unhealthy fad diet. Yes is works for some but NOT all.
-
Under eating is not the same as having an eating disorder. Plenty of people under eat but don't have an eating disorder. You can also over eat and have one, or over eat and not have one.
-
You clearly did not read all the post. I do eat more than 1200 (2200-2500), you missed my point that 1200 isnt healthy for everyone. I was replying to someone trying to say that it is.
-
This is unhealthy. You will get sick.
-
I already addressed this, I corrected myself and said it was healthy for someone in your circumstances.
-
-
I understand completely, 1200 is not a minimum. It is way too little for someone my size, even if i was sedentary.
-
There is no way his one day of eating more than that will equal out 6 days of under eating.
-
You are under eating.
-
What are you talking about? it was a secret. I tried all those lame fad diets before I learned about proper health and nutrition.
-
I am NOT saying that, but be cautious. Credentials don't always mean they give the best advice. I would get a second opinion. Look at Doctor Oz for example! He gives horrible weight loss advice.
-
Did you read the entire post? They literally said "1200 is the minimum someone should be eating-"
-
This was when I was OVERWEIGHT. 1200 was not enough. Especially with exercise. I do not trust MFP calculations.
-
Trust your doctor I guess. If I was you I would get a new doctor. You are under eating severely.
-
I did already. it is a load of crap. it landed me in the HOSPITAL. What the heck. Doctors suggest these BS diets all the time doesn't mean they are right.
-
It is NOT for everyone. 1200 diet is a joke. It isn't one size fits all. Its bogus, I would not survive on 1200. I tried it before and you know where it got me? THE HOSPITAL. I would never ever suggest it to someone for no reason at all without any consideration of their height/weight/age/gender. All these fad diets and…
-
That is really sad. Your BMR is 2279.
-
Does it matter? You shouldn't have to take a class to know that 1200 isn't enough for everyone.
-
Thank you!! I thought about it but I can't figure out how to edit it or delete it. :explode:
-
Exactly so why you're so upset over my post is beyond me. I corrected my wrongs and apologized.
-
I agree
-
I corrected myself, I apologized. I never said I know everything. JC
-
I love all of your comments!! I could learn a lot from you. You know how to pose an argument. I agree with everything you just said ^^^
-
1200 is the minimum someone? Isn't this what I JUST got yelled at for because a statement like that ignores a persons height, weight, gender, age. 1200 IS NOT a universal number.
-
If you don't agree you don't have to comment. I swear everyone wants to use the 'age thing' as an argument.
-
I disagree with the last sentence but all i was saying is to eat enough, and if 1200 isnt enough for you it can be very damaging
-
WHAT 1200 calories a 6'1 AND exercising that much? Not healthy whatsoever. Good thing he upped his intake, congats on his weight loss I guess
-
I already addressed this and corrected myself.
