I have IBS-C. The things that worsen it for me are eating high fat, too much insoluble fiber, coffee and foods that have added fibers (like Fiber One bars, can't do inulin fiber). I'm also lactose intolerant which gives me similar symptoms, do you think dairy in general could be affecting you? Remember, dairy is in LOTS of…

For someone who is 5'2, a healthy BMI is considered 101lbs-136lbs (aka, a BMI of 18.5-24.9). Below 101lbs is considered underweight, and above 136 is considered overweight. My question is, is there a reason you are picking a number that is below a healthy weight range? Now, the BMI is not perfect/end all be all, however…

Actually it can be perfectly fine to wear corsets, source:I am a goth chick who wears corsets. In order to actually change your body shape, you'd have to do what is called tight lacing/waist training corset. You'd need a specially made one for you body, and wear it daily. If you stop wearing it, your body will end up going…

The things I keep in mind for myself are 1) The week/week and a half before my period my weight will be up due to bloating, and 2) I have IBS which definitely makes the scale fluctuate. What I do is only log what my lowest weight is, so over time I can see the .5-1lb a week drop, and not get discouraged by the higher…

Wow why are you being so rude? They made a great post to help others and you're just being condescending.

I hear ya, I go out a lot as well. What helps me is prelogging as much as I can for those times!! If you already have planned out what to eat, it's much simpler. For drinks I stick with vodka soda. What's also helped a lot is bringing a granola bar in my bag. So if I get cravings/get envious that people are eating, I can…

And don't forget the rebound binging. You can end up in a cycle where you're perpetually going back and forth between starving and binging. Not to mention, they've done studies showing that when people are put on very restricted diet, they actually begin experiencing eating disorder thoughts/behaviors. When they had the…

If he's losing weight it's because he's eating lower calorie. Simply eat higher calorie foods! Also, as the others said, the flu has nothing to do with it. In fact, since being vegetarian I've significantly cut down on the amount of times I've needed antibiotics over the years!

Hmm maybe I will do that. I wish MFP had calories of "one bite" of such and such!
-
I use Plant Fusion chocolate protein powder, 1 Tbsp peanutbutter or PB2, half a banana, 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, a shake of cinnamon, 1 cup sugar-free almond milk, ice. Yummmm!

Meh, I posted on FB about weight lifting and how it's annoying that the culture believes women will "bulk up" from lifting heavy. Of course someone replied saying I shouldn't lift heavy because I will bulk up. UGH.

Nope, none. I just fit the calories of what I want to eat into my allotted daily amount. Cake for lunch? Sure! Not a daily thing obviously, but if it fits into my calories, no problem. I did have one "binge"/cheat day, and afterwards felt disappointed and annoyed with myself, cause it wasn't worth it. I know everyone does…

Curious, all you morning workout people, how many hours do you sleep? Do you get a full night or do you sacrifice?
-
Depends on what you're eating other times, like others said. Personally I make sure to eat a smaller breakfast and lunch, with a larger dinner and the rest of my calories for evening snacks. I make sure my evening snacks are low calorie, so can feel like I'm eating more. Also prelogging helps a lot, have you tried that?…

Mostly daily, unless I'm bloated.

2nd all that's said, I eat 1200-1300 and I'm 5'2, and sedentary. But then you have 6'5 men posting that they eat 1200 and wonder why they can't gain muscle.
-
Wow I looked up the FODMAP diet, and I don't think I'd survive! I'm vegetarian and it says no beans or hummus :o No apples?? And I'd have to eat gluten-free.... well, maybe at some point I'll be brave enough to try it, but I dunno. Thanks for all the ideas though, I will look into these things. Curious about the…

I have drinks with friends almost every weekend, and my daily calories are 1200-1300. I just fit them into my calories. FYI tonic does have calories, so if you'd like to have lower calorie drinks consider using soda water or diet coke as mixers (maybe not with gin though, that may taste weird).

Thanks guys! I've gotten to know over the years which foods give me stomach pain and which don't. However I haven't been able to figure out what foods/things make me "go" and which reduce my ability to. The typical things that seem to work for others don't seem to work.... for example coffee constipates and makes me feel…

I'm lactose intolerant, so I can't have any cows milk at all. Almond milk rocks!

Well, I do have IBS so, yeah, that complicates things. Yeah the increased fiber my stomach is sensitive to. Figured this happened to everyone lol, maybe not!
-
Um they're asking for vegetarian meals....

I did reset it, several times. It still was reading a different number ever time I stood on it after :( I didn't try weighing anything else, since if it's saying a different number for me literally seconds apart, I know something isn't right with it. Maybe tomorrow it will have fixed itself.

What's in it? I recognize some of it but not all.

Thanks so much everyone for your answers!! I really appreciate it. I'm definitely going to be including more veggies in my diet.

Because this is approximately my TDEE -20%

As someone with IBS too, high fat foods are a trigger for IBS attacks. That's most likely why.
-
Do you have any digestive disorders? For me dieting activates my IBS (as does going back to maintenance). I think for me it's more the quantity of food changing which messes me up. Were you eating much fiber before? Perhaps cut down on fruit for a week and see how you feel. Definitely changes in fiber can bother one's…

Did you have any thoughts about what I wrote?

So far I have been able to successfully diet using MFP, both the tracking and reading the posts :) By successful I mean lost weight healthfully, with no ED symptoms. So I know for me at least I am able to do that. I will say it does suck though feeling that even though I'm not obsessed anymore, it seems I will never truly…
