Participants lost 104 stone in total - I hope they all go on to achieve their target weights. I couldn't cut potatoes or bread from my diet but I do eat less of each now.

I lost 63 lbs in 2013. I added some exercise in at the start of 2014 and quit fasting - I have since put 53 lbs back on. I am starting 5:2 again today and have only eaten 471 calories in total.
-
you look great
-
yes it is, I lost 63 lbs last year with fasting alone. Since I introduced exercise in Jan this year, I have struggled to maintain my weight and my diet.

You have taken the first steps by logging into MyFitnessPal. Now introduce healthier foods into your diet, keep away from the ready meals, cook from scratch when you can. Walk more. Keep alcohol for special occasions only - there are a lot of empty calories in alcohol. Look at the community message boards when things get…

It works for me but I do my own 5:2, I have 1000 calories on Friday and 500 on Saturday - I have lost 4 stone in 44 weeks, had headaches on my first fasting day only and constipation some weekends. I eat more fruit and less bread and still have chocolate and crisps as a treat. All this with very little exercise. After…

I don't feel fat but I will be happier if my calves slim down.
-
I weigh myself on Saturday and Sunday morning and record the lightest weight - its usually less on Sunday after my Saturday 500 calorie fasting day. Sometimes I will also weigh myself on Monday morning if periods have kept my weight up over the weekend.
-
after experiencing weight losses and gains for many years, knowing that my weight on Sunday will be reduced after my two fasting days keeps me focussed - I never want to yo-yo again.
-
when my clothes become looser I continue to wear them for at least another fortnight - that's when I get everybody congratulating me on my weight loss - then I swap for the next size down.
-
I would buy stuff with their logo on too - MFP should open an online shop.
-
I agree, I want to see my actual weight loss not a rounded up or rounded down one. My ticker today shows a 54 lbs weight loss - it is actually 54.4 lbs.
-
still doing it and 36 weeks in have lost 48 lbs. Finding my 500 calorie day tough but next day weigh-in always happy.
-
I will be 50 next Spring and want to lose 107lbs in total - almost half way there. I might not reach my target by my birthday but I will reach it sometime next year. Good luck with your weight loss.

I am still intermittent fasting and still losing weight, have lost 45lbs since January 2013 and want to lose further 62 lbs. I eat 1000 calories Friday and find Saturdays 500 calories tough but I always weigh less on Sunday - this gives me motivation to continue as it is only two days out of the week.
-
as long as she eats healthily on the fasting days, she should be ok. I limited my two fasting days to 1000 calories each for the first 12 weeks and only then introduced one 500 calorie day from week 13 onwards. When I feel I need to, I go back to 1000 calories and try again the following week - I continue to lose weight…

yes and my weight is still going down.
-
yes, fast or slow, it all counts
-
neither is good for you.

you will be on holiday, enjoy yourself. I had a great time at Disneyworld last year - the only disappointment was the choices of food at our accommodation. Why can't Disney employ a chef from the cruise ships - their food is always excellent.
-
I don't get cravings fasting but on Saturday when I only have 500 calories all day, I spend my early evening imagining what I will have for Sunday breakfast.
-
having studied alcohol as part of a Health Science course recently - I was surprised at the high amount of calories in alcohol due to the sugars in it.
-
I didn't count a single calorie whilst all inclusive in Mexico recently. After 26 weeks, it was good to not have to account for everything that passed my lips. I drank a tequila sunrise every evening, was more active than usual (swimming, tennis, golf, climbing), didn't miss a breakfast and was able to skip a few midday…

I saw it and found it very interesting. Food companies involved in manufacturing weight loss foods seem to make lots of money. I have rarely bought diet products but have previously eaten lots of ready meals. I now prefer to cook from scratch - stir frys, curries, meat and two veg.
-
as somebody who has previously lost 3 stone dieting the conventional way and put it all back on, I have found 5:2 fasting much more manageable and am determined to continue when I finally reach my goal. I only wished I had followed this eating pattern years ago.
-
we have all been there. as you have so little to lose, have you thought of fasting one or two days a week - eat healthly 5 or six days then have half of what you would normally have the remainder of the week.
-
do not worry about it, I'm sure you will be ok
-
I have to agree as since I have restricted myself to only two slices a day Monday to Friday, I no longer crave a jam butty like I used to.
-
I am determined to lose small amounts weekly so I do not have a problem with loose skin.
