  • 83 pounds down, about 20 to go! I've slowed down a lot lately, so need a bit of a motivation push
  • I go to Fitness Connection uptown, but there are several locations. It's reasonably priced & the facilities are good. I've gone to the Thursday evening Zumba class a handful of times - it's not bad!
  • I was fitted at a running store and mine were about $130, but so worth it. I had bought a cheaper pair off Amazon and dealt with shin splints (spent money on compression sleeves) and knee issues (spent money on an ortho appointment). The pair I got from the store has helped tremendously with both problems. If I had gone…
  • Anyone can add me! I'm on here & log everyday. Love to get & give support.
  • I'm not that new on here, but am always looking for friends. Today I have logged in for 80 days, and I've already seen some people come and go! I'm pretty committed to being on here daily, so please add if you want to support each other :-)

  • The district where I teach at has a snow day today. I'm taking full advantage of it! I took my dog on a long walk to play in the snow and am currently under a blanket on the couch with a good book. Living in a southern state, we don't get many of these opportunities :-)
  • I'm taking up running again (for what feels like the millionth time!). I've done a couple of 5ks, but never really ran great or fast. I'm doing the couch to 5 to 10 program right now. My long term goal is to do a 1/2 marathon at the end of November (on my birthday). Feel free to add me - I love to give & get motivation :-)
  • I'm also in the same boat. I think that smoking is one of the biggest obstacles to me losing weight. I'm not nearly as active when I'm regularly smoking. I'm using the patch and haven't had a cigarette for 2 weeks now. I stay more active (go to the gym, walk the dog) to keep my mind off of cravings. I will cheer anyone on…
  • Hi Dave! I also have about 100 pounds to lose. I've been on here about 2 weeks and am loving the accountability. I've found some positive people to keep me motivated & try to do the same for others. Feel free to add me (anyone else, too)!
  • Thanks for the info! I find that the MFP calories burned seems to be really high, so I do think I will get one. Anything for accountability. I almost hope that I get obsessed :-)

  • I was looking into getting a fitbit, but I'm torn. Do you ladies recommend it? Usually I just go by the calorie counter on the gym equipment, but as the weather improves I'm hoping to get outside more so that's why I was considering it. I'd also like to see how much activity I do on a normal daily basis. Which ones do you…

  • I will put my measurements in later this evening!
  • Hi everyone, I'm Katie - 37 years old and only been a member of MFP for 3 days now. I'm really enjoying this site, and I'm so excited that I found this group. I've struggled with my weight my whole life, and right now I feel that I'm at my heaviest (though I've yet to step on a scale to confirm that - I will for this…
  • I'm in! I'm very new to this, but I see it as a way to keep accountable (I am single w/ no children, so I don't really have that accountability built in to my every day - if I want to eat a whole pint of ice cream there's no one but myself telling me not to!) I'm using this site as a way to understand portions, etc. If…
