Hi, Do you travel to work by car or train/bus? I just wonder on the way to work or back could you walk for 45 mins and cut out some of the journey by transport?. If driving, park the car 25 mins from work etc. I don't always get a chance to exercise so 3-4 days a week I walk to work and back which is an hours exercise…

Hi RunRutheeerun - thanks for your reply. Totally understand re the cruise, bread is obviously one of the things I rarely touch too, if ever...but those lovely warm bread rolls with butter at dinner...yum! And you've paid for it...could have more salad...but why when these is so much mouth watering food on offer! Sounds…

Thanks Sabine, it probably took a good 10 yrs to realise I was actually rather over weight! I can't imagine being that big now as have been an 8-10 (and sometimes squeeze into a 6 ;) ) for 2-3 yrs and before that was a 12-14 but still slim compared to when I was 21!. I think I'm just annoyed as it's so near Xmas...and not…

Hi SLLRunner - Oh I have don't you worry! No pain no gain...I got myself in the little mess and will get myself out of it... Hi Sabine_Stroehm....I bet there are lots of eaters like me posting here...I've done a little research. Hopefully the weight will come off over 4 weeks (hardest time of year with bday celebrations…

Yes that does make sense thanks ILiftHeavy - I hope its an inch for me too as will explain the dramatic differences, what seems over a dress size! can tell you something...don't think I'll gorge again on holiday...I think!

Hi all thanks for your reply.'s To ana3067, I've been doing LC for over 2 years now, but rarely do I go on weekends away and have only had one 1 week holiday this year. For each of the 3 holidays All inclusive I've been on in the past 2 yrs and last weeks very long weekend...I've said 'stick to vodka n diet coke and eat as…

Dark chocolate covered in real sugary orange pieces I brought back from Spain last week - and I also brought back about 9lbs and 3 inches!!

Should I be able to ping it back again in 4 weeks? :S

Ah thanks 'Ihatethinkingofusername's' (love that name btw and happy bday for last week!). So we both over indulged last weekend...although mine was an extra 3-4 days with copious amounts of alcohol and more food than I like to think of. That's great you've dropped the weight already - wow and lighter than before your…

Thanks for your reply zyxst....Just need to add here I do actually try and count calories, I weigh most foods, I know exactly what I'm eating - but I also have learnt your body is a complex machine and burns different type of cals in different ways. I can eat more cals when doing v low carb, but you can't mix this up with…

Oh, and top of my long reply (sorry!) - agree with everyone here about speaking to HR etc. They will help and also agree that this is not right, someone needs to step in, someone official, your colleague shouldn't be getting away with this. Respect at work is of the utmost importance, you do not need colleagues like that!.…

Simply put, this woman has major issues with HERSELF and all these comments are a way of detracting her attention from her own, what it seems, low mental health. You are easy 'prey' to be picked on (I have been through this at work, so called colleague/friend constantly went on for years about me being fat and chubby when…

Just an update for you all - would be great if we all did this! I'm 2-3 weeks in now. 4lbs down - doesn't sound much but I'm ecstatic as I could not get under 9st with Dukan/Low carb even on calorie defecit and exercising (Step aerobics and walking an hour 3-4 days a week) - just got to a point the weight wasn't shifting.…

Hi, I've been trying to cut down on protein and like today had to guess what I had for lunch as I forgot to weight it! But this time added green beans, bok choy, mayo and cheese. I still thought bacon was protein and cheese/tuna...so couldn't work out how to fill up as you're also restricted to 2 cups (tea cups...mug…

Hi, thanks for the reply :) Have eggs most mornings for breakfast if I don't have bacon - I could eat them all day but then the protein is high and Atkins says only 2-3 a day? I guess if I have chicken breat, I can have less than usual, fry it in oil and add the veg with butter. I think greet yoghurt coms in phase 2 but…

Hi, thanks for your detailed response as well, much appreciated! I've read all about the 70% fat...but how do I eat lots of fat? I know bacons a good one but then I'm eating too much protein. Mayo is another but just a tablespoon is 100 cal so I'd need lots to fill me up, carbs add up - any suggestions? I would try and…

Cheers for the advice, you are right and if I'm eating sugary carbs with the Atkins bars I might as well have less of the real thing, enjoy it more and save a lot of money! My friend said when he did the original Atkins about 10 yrs ago, every other day he'd have a few chunks of proper milk chocolate and it never affected…
-
Hi - thanks so much, I thought that may have been the case! It's just really nice to have some chocolate now and again but it's not worth it if kicking me out of ketosis! Surprised the companies get away with false claims....especially Atkins themselves! My Dad is diabetic and relies on genuine nutrition being on the…

Today I'm in my second week of Atkins, after losing about a stone (14lbs) on Dukan 2 yrs ago but not enjoying it being so restrictive and low fat which in itself seemed unhealthy, I swapped a week or so ago. I've not weighed myself (have just moved so scaled packed away!) but I know I've lost something this week as my…

This is very very true! It's nothing to do with you but how they feel about themselves. I enjoyed reading this response after a small argument with a friend recently (totally not related) - but pushing her views I don't believe in onto me. I've been upset all day and came to the conclusion it's not me, its her. She is…

35 yrs old 5 ft 2.5inches (that half an inch is important!) 125lbs 26" waist I carry most my weight on my bum and thighs....I cannot shift it!

I'm not a fussy eater...but ordered the chocolate peanut sauce and caramel syrup last week...it arrived Wednesday....I must say they were utterly disgusting, dipping my finger was more than enough...and no getting rid of the nasty after taste even with mints, coffee and scrubbing my tongue...shockingly bad!!!. Not just…

I usually find that people like this are very unhappy, it makes them feel good to be nasty about others (very school playground), but deep down, or maybe not that deep, they in fact do not like themselves. We all spend so much time eating well and trying to keep fit, but neglect mental well-being, this girl being a prime…

I do actually like these noodles, made out of the Konjac plant. Although I only really like the Fettucine and Noodles, not the Penne as they have a consitency like squid and I can't stop the sliminess feel! They smell because of all the starch, just rinse them for a minute and they are fine. They do taste of nothing but I…

Hi Lucan07, Now THAT is a FANTASTIC read! All very true, and after starvation diets, weight watchers and now low carbing, I realise it is as simple as calories in VS calories out. I still do the low carbing (for medical reasons) BUT it wasn't until I joined MFP and watching the calories too that I started losing the weight…

Hi, Fantastic story there and what an inspiration for many! Just remember a few pounds is not as much as all the stones you have lost, they will come off you and know through experience sometimes it's easier than other times and our bodies can be funny things! I'm new here and this website seems fantastic and wished I had…
