  • I started this challenge at 196.4. Today is 1/13/13 and I am now at 196.0, so only lost 0.4 lbs. However, my clothes are fitting better and I took some progress pics that I posted on my profile and I see a HUGE difference from my pics in November. My goal by Valentine's day is to get under 190 lbs again.
  • I am hoping that the weights do help the progress. Since my biggest area for me with self image is my belly, I'm going to start doing some core work with a medicine ball. My husband is also buying me a treadmill next month since the weather is getting colder and also because I'm a stay at home mom so it's hard to get out…
  • I have been trying really hard to stick to my calorie limit. The other thing I've been doing is long walks. I'm not much of a runner, but about 3-4 days a week I have been walking about 2 1/2 - 3 miles. It usually takes me about 60 minutes to walk. I haven't even started doing weights yet. I'm amazed myself.
  • Yes, it is very motivating to see the change. I have so much more energy, was able to finally get my size 14 Old Navy skirt from last year to button the other day, today I walked for 50 minutes and mowed my lawn for the first time [husband usually does it, but he's sick with the flu]. I am amazed at the things I'm starting…
  • Wow! You look great. Keep up the great work, it's definitely showing.
  • I didn't even realize this post was still going. Just to catch everyone up... we did talk. He apologized for calling me these names. Yes, it did start when I started to make a lifestyle change. He admitted that he's insecure about me making changes. He also figured that since he has lost 40 lbs, I would want to do the same…
  • Actually, you're wrong. I did NOT commit to working out at a particular time at all to him. We finished lunch and HE decided that was the best time to go for a walk. I wanted the kids to nap first and said that when they woke up we would go. It was not something we had planned out prior to the argument at all. He just…
  • [/quote]Then why are you talking trash in here, in such a public forum? Take it to a counselor, or spirtual director, or a trusted friend. It sounds like you were making an excuse, he is used to you doing just that, and he spoke in agravation, as men sometimes do more than women do. You created a pattern and he sees you…
  • To those of you saying that it doesn't take hours for food to digest, I know that. If you read my original post, I wanted my two children to nap first so they wouldn't be cranky and ruin our walk. I did take a short nap because I was so upset by what he said. However, I woke up, but on my workout clothes, and went by…
  • Wow, that's impressive. Your measurements alone make me feel that the money would be very well spent. My husband has already lost 40 lbs just from running, but is getting ready to join the military [thinking Air Force, but talking to a recruiter on Monday] so he wants to strengthen and tone everything. I need to lose about…
  • Thanks. Can you write out how you fixed it so I can learn, please?
  • Still don't know how to get these pictures to show up properly.
  • Thanks. I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it, but I'm supposed to start my period today or tomorrow. That could be it. I will try to stop weighing so often, but the scale calls to me, lol.
  • Hi everyone. My name is Jenni. I am 27 and the mother of two and step-mommy to another. I am married to my wonderful husband, John. Our 2nd wedding anniversary is coming up on January 22nd. After having my second child two years ago, we discovered that my thyroid isn't working properly anymore and I gained 40 lbs on top of…
  • Thanks everyone. I did factor it into my exercise. Even with that I was over by the 66 calories, but when I hit complete entry, it still had me losing. Also, the last two days I had been about 100 or so under my calories, so I figure it'll even itself out. I just went a little overboard with the pizza and popcorn today […
  • Thanks. I am training to complete the Rock 'N Roll marathon in December of 2013. I figure I will start out by increasing distance every few days until I build up a better stamina, then start increasing my speed. I have asthma, so right now I just walk rather than jog or run. However, my goal is just to complete the…
  • You are free to friend or decline whomever you see fit. However, this is not the forum to put out a broadcast. Your OP sounds like an ad in the classified section to pick up a date. I really still don't see what hair color or the mole on your left hand has ANYTHING to do with weight loss. If you are just looking for people…
  • This post ticks me off. What difference does hair color or the mole on you left hand have to do with whether or not someone can support you with weight loss? Also, you stated that you don't like skinny people. Well, being 5'5" and 147, your BMI is 24.5 which puts you within normal range. So I don't know why all the hating.…
  • It's a great feeling to wake up to all these motivational comments on my thread. I LOVE the idea of the weight loss jars. I think seeing it visually that way when I can't always see it on my body will help keep me motivated. Also, I am going to be trying the C25K program. It seems like something manageable with my asthma.…
  • My children are my motivation every day of my life. They are my reason for everything I do or don't do in life. Congratulations on the new addition to your family! She is just precious.
  • My goal is to run the marathon next year. However, I know that I am not fit or healthy right now. I am in a lot of pain due to all the extra weight I've been carrying for the past two years. Now that my mental health is improved, I want my body to match. I have never been much of a runner because I am asthmatic, but with…
  • Thank you for all your kind words, everyone. Sometimes you just need to hear from others that it's okay to falter on this journey. Today I even went to my neighborhood's annual Christmas hayride and cookie party, and managed to only have one very small brownie, half a cup of hot chocolate, and a taste of toffee. Last year…
  • Runzalot-- This has become my motto for the last month. My medications seem to be the right ones now. Even my husband has noticed a huge difference in my personality. We were on the verge of divorce for three months because of my depression and very volatile mood swings. He just couldn't handle me anymore. We are still…
  • I am 5'2" and my goal weight is somewhere between 130-140. I am a curvy body type and both me and my husband love my curves, so I don't want to get too small. Once I get down to about 150-160, I will reevaluate and see how I feel. I am at 196.4 as of today. I wear a size 16 jeans right now. My mini goal for right now is to…
  • I like the analogy of forgetting to take a shower. I am motivated again to do this. My husband wants us to run in the Rock 'N Roll marathon next December. He has already lost 40 lbs and is still losing. I, on the other hand, still need to lose about 60 lbs to be at my goal weight [I'm only 5'2" but don't want to get too…
  • I most definitely see a HUGE difference. I also have hypothyroidism and gained 30 lbs before we figured out what was wrong. I also had no energy, large amounts of hair falling out, etc. I am now regulated but just started my journey to lose weight. I have a total of about 60 left to lose. Congrats, you look amazing.
  • Also, let me just clarify that my husband is not a cruel-hearted person. I know he loves me, I was just having a moment earlier when I made the original post. Yes, his comments about my weight hurt. We did talk and hopefully he understands now. I do think he thinks he's being helpful, but it just hurts. I'm not looking for…
