breaking the addiction
While having a heated discussion with my husband today about him supporting my new diet, I came to a realization and made what I think is a strong argument. I told him that my decision to focus on my diet and get serious about losing weight and being healthy is a lifestyle change. But beyond that, it's breaking an…

Being called a "fat *kitten*" by my husband....
doesn't really help. I've been dieting and doing light exercise. Just because I wanted to put our kids down for a nap after lunch and let my food digest before going for a 4 mile long walk doesn't make me lazy. I never said we weren't going to go, just that I wanted to wait a few hours. However, being called a lazy fat…

Scale says 5 lbs, pics say another story!!!
I can't figure out how to get the pictures to show up here, but I posted some new progress pics in my profile. The first pics are from November, the new ones are from today. I started at 200.8 lbs and as of today I weight 196.0. So I have only lost 5 lbs, but I see a HUGE difference in my pictures. There is finally a space…

Any women taken SlimQuick and had success?
I just bought some SlimQuick caffeine-free pills. While I understand that pills alone will not work, and I still plan to follow my reduced-calorie diet and my exercise regimen, I would like a little boost in the weight loss department. Have any women tried this and had a noticeable difference in their weight loss?

Insanity success stories
I'm thinking about purchasing the Insanity DVD set. I know that there are tons of people on here who have had success with Insanity. Please post your pics for me. I'm also looking for anyone who started around 195 lbs and where you ended up after the 60 days on Insanity. Pics, measurements, etc. Anything that can help me…

3.2 lb gain despite eating under calories most days?
I'm hoping this is just water weight, but on Saturday when I weighed in I was 196.4. Today when I weighed myself, it said 199.6!!! My starting weight was 200.8, so it was rather discouraging to see it almost back to where I started. Has anyone had this happen then seen the scale go back down? Also, possible TMI, but could…

If you need a little pick me up
So, I was feeling a little down this morning after seeing a big jump up with my weight. A lot of people responded with encouraging words. I decided to change my attitude for the day. I went around the house and opened all the blinds and windows to let the light and cool breeze in. I put on some music and danced like a nut…

NSV... walked 3 1/2 miles today!!!
I walked the farthest I have walked in over 4 years today. Before now, the farthest I had been able to go without feeling winded was about 2.75 miles. I could have gone even farther, and wanted to, but my son was on his bike and started complaining that his legs were getting tired. Unfortunately, I kind of blew my workout…

Fell off the wagon a bit, in need of some encouragement
I joined MFP on October 9th weighing in at 200.8 lbs. In the first month I lost 9 lbs and was weighing in at 191.8. I was so excited to be losing the weight so evenly. However, I suffer from what I thought was just depression. After a very bad low point right after Thanksgiving, I checked myself into the hospital. I ended…

Anyone have success with BodyPump
Has anyone taken BodyPump classes and had success? I'm finally going to be getting my YMCA membership renewed and I was looking into their group fitness classes. They have bodypump on the three mornings a week that I am able to go to the gym. If you've done these classes for an extended time frame and had success, can you…

Wish he understood
I really wish my husband understood that telling me I'm lazy and that out of the whole family, I'm the one who really needs to go for a walk, isn't really motivating or helpful. In fact, it's hurtful and makes me less inclined to work on myself. He doesn't seem to get that I have medical conditions that have caused this…

NSV first!
I just recently ordered two shirts from my favorite store, Lane Bryant. For those of you who don't know, LB is designed for plus size women. Anyway, I got the email today that my two shirts had arrived at the store to be picked up. I had ordered the shirts in the smallest size they make, a 0X, which is equivalent to my…

First mini goal met!
Okay, so I'm fairly new to MFP. I just started my weight loss journey on October 9th when I tipped the scale at 200.8 lbs on my 5'2" frame. Now, let me just say that I am the very proud mommy of two amazing children. After the birth of my now two year old daughter, my thyroid stopped working. Before realizing the problem,…
