I weigh once per week. Before I eat or drink anything, no clothes and after morning bowel movement (TMI, sorry).

Congrads, for starting!!!! I feel your pain because I'm a little over 5'7" was weighing 171. I'm lot older (42 yrs) than you so I only want to lose 20 pounds, so I can keep my curves and get into a size 8 again. Saying all that to say, I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!! First and foremost, you have to change your mind set (attitude).…

I'm 42 yrs of age, a little over 5'6 my start weight was 171 and my goal weight is 150. I'm maintaining at this point of my lifestyle change. Do not know how to download pictures into the comments. My workout includes 1hr on the elliptical 6 days per week, 20-30 minutes of strength training 6 days per week (switching…

That's right, do not give up. I have reached my weight loss goal and continue to log in daily to maintain the weight lose. I'll be more than happy to be your MFP friend.

I totally agree!!! I use to beat myself up really bad. Now I know this is a lifestyle change, I will mess up but I will not give up on my lifestyle change. Matter of fact, I've messed up the pass 6 days and I told myself, "okay, you've had your fun...enough." Thanks for sharing :flowerforyou:

I agree with another reading, motivation will fade in and out but you are going to have to hate being over the weight you want to be more. That has kept me going, is the HATE I had for the EXTRA UNWANTED WEIGHT!!! I HATE IT!!!!!! So that makes me get up every morning at 4:30 am, six days a week to work out and immediatly…

Thanks for sharing!!!

Yes, you can but it may take long to lose the weight. Exercising helps with your metabolism, which will burn calories when you aren't moving.

It's good you recognize it, we all have moments of judgement but don't stay there. I've lost 20 lbs and I did not cut out chips and candy, I only limited how much and how often. Don't judge because as you said, you aren't perfect....none of us are.

That's not realistic or healthy!!! I work out 6 days out the week and burn at least 600 calories a day, not counting the strength training. I say that to say if you want to burn more calories I suggest working out more days per week (need a day of rest) and incorporate strength training into your work out routine.

Thanks!!

I agree with you 100%!!!

I can totally relate, I'm 42 years of age and over the past 5 years I've been gaining between 2 to 3 pounds a year. Hoping each year that I would lose or it would level off but it didn't. Like you I've been slender majority of my life, so if I say "I'm watching what I'm eating"; I get all kinds of negative comments and…

Twice a week for 10 to 15 minutes

Congrads!!!! That was an empowering moment for you.

I'm in for both challenges!!!

That's great!!!!!! This gives me added inspiration to continue with MFP. I've only been on it for 25 days but I am soooo loving it. Not only is it assisting with my weight loss but I'm being educated on how I didn't have a clue regarding calorie counting. I'm happy for you!!!

I don't count that but I count walking my dog and when I do house cleaning (mopping and vacuuming only). But like some mention, count it but if you are noticing no or little weight lose stop counting it.

You are not in that boat alone!! I read somewhere that the only way to stop the cravings, is to not feed them. So whenever I get that craving I reach for fruits or nuts (I stop bring chips and cupcakes in the house and refuse to buy them from the vending machine at work; cost too much). I've been doing this for about three…

It is a struggle and I have to be at work at 8:30 am. I get up at 4:45 am and work out for an hour. Then I walk my dog for 20 minutes and head on off to work. You just got have to find out what works for you. I have more control of my mornings than I do my evenings (after work events or just plain tired, lol). You will…

I've only been on MFP for 20 days and I've lost 4lbs. I'm excited for any weight loss; with that being said I must say your calculations are a little off. You stated at 125 and currently weigh 116.4, you lost 8.6lbs. I think you are doing a wonderful job!!!!
