  • If it's been months and they haven't been on I assume they have left the site.
  • The great thing is the heaver you are generally the easier it is to loose weight because he more you weigh the more you burn just doing normal stuff your RMR...resting metabolic rate is directly proportional to your weight. If you need any help or support feel free to ask. It's funny on the injection thing, I used to be…
  • Yes absolutely...calorie lab is great site for getting the values for everyday activities.
  • Look at from this angle: -If your out of shape taking a class form a beefoid or barbie doll that doesn't resemble and average person can be off putting. -A lot of men and women would be more comfortable with someone of a more average stature and size. They want to look at the instructor and say ya I can realistically see…
  • Actually the skinny doctor who has never struggled with their weight and who don't understand the challenges are some of the worst at counseling patients on weight loss. My previous Doc was like that totally clueless when it came to weight management. Just didn't get it.
  • Like the username says I'm from Kemptville On. ( 40 km / 20 miles south of Ottawa)
  • No I've never had that happen.
  • Break it down. It's the how do you eat an elephant dilemma...one bite at a time. Start with small goal just 1 or 2 pounds...
  • I've Been overweight most of my adult life, In my 50s now. I managed in the last year onMFP to hit a weight I haven't seen since collage. So I here you! Feel free to add me and I'll try to help in any way I can.
  • I use the same analogy I like that way of looking at calories.
  • I'm here every day. Coming up on a year now. Thing is with this approach you have to use it regularly even once you reach your goal. I'm looking to refresh my friends list too. I look for friends who are active and take the time to actively support you and I try to reciprocate in kind.
  • Coming from a dysfunctional family does really mean you have been handed a secondary challenge. I will tell you though, that by being able to recognize it for what it is, you've already cleared the biggest hurdle the rest is healing. The calorie tracking can be really helpful if you can make a regular part of your life.. A…
  • I didn't see any entries when I looked at your food diary. ???
  • My wife's like that too so I have to cuddle one of our pugs that likes to sleep between our pillows.
  • Really the formulas give you a rough estimate. It's good place to start but you need to make adjustments up or down if your not getting the results you are seeking. There's an old engineering line says: The great thing about standards is that, there are so many to choose from.
  • Research seem to support that attractiveness is not so much linked to weight as much as general indicators of health and fertility. -hip to waist ratio -symmetry -absence of outward signs of disease Things we've been explicitly programmed to subconsciously see as indicators that a partner is healthy and has good genetics.…
  • Having to urinate every 20 minutes, is the secret to drinking water and weight loss. Its all that extra exercise you get having to walk to the bathroom every 20 minutes.
  • I love the way the your weight loss has opened up your face. You have such large pretty eyes. Congratulations.
  • I work in an office, electrical engineering, but my activity depends on what task I'm doing. . If I'm in the lab I up and down the stairs 10 times a day. My approach has been: 1) set my activity to sedentary 2) carry a pedometer with me 3)add my steps in at the end of the day. 4) add in any other exercise I do at the end…
  • "But won't MFP lower my calories in small increments before my deficit goal changes? I am planning to keep my deficit at 1 lb loss per week all the way until I am 10 lbs away from my goal and then switch it to 0.5 lb per week, but I had heard that MFP will change my calorie goal (in order to keep the same deficit) every 10…
  • I have a strategy I'm trying. Recognizing every individual is different, If the suggested limits aren't working and it been a 2-3 weeks. I'm trying, decreasing my net calories by 50 / day then seeing if that helps after trying it for 2 weeks then repeating as required. I say net calories because I can decrease my actual…
  • If your worried just increase your calories slowly. increase from wight loss by 50 -100 calories at time then wait 2-3 weeks to see if your gaining, loosing or stable and adjust again if required. Since everyone is different it my take a bit of trial and error to find your own personal sweet spot.
  • Thanks for the replies. My last two checkups I was in the high normal range not type II diabetic yet but at risk. so I'm hopping to see that improve when I'm done. I'm shooting for 50 lbs. I've manged 37 so far. I'm also hoping to no longer need a statin.
  • I also hate the taste of water.. If like or don't mind water that's great but for those of us who don t care for or active dislike the taste of water we need a calorie free alternative. The absolute best way guarantee that a your weight loss strategy will fail is if it requires you to force yourself to routinely eat and…
  • Thanks...I'm experimenting now because I was consistently losing 1 lb a week for 6months then stalled for the last month. It seems like, when the stock recipe stops working, you just have go with trial and error using moderate adjustments. That's what Ive started this week. I'm a little pissed because I'm stuck 1/2 a pound…
