Oh geez, you'd asked about the headaches. And yes, you definitely can get headaches from the change in eating habits. And if you've now cut sugar or products with sugar out of your diet, that can trigger headaches. You already addressed the caffeine. Just give your body a few days to acclimate to the change in your diet,…

I lost my weight following low carb/high fat & protein. I've been in maintenance now for a year & a half and continue to follow that plan and haven't gained anything back. I looked at your diary and you are totally on point. I continue to eat a lower daily carb total than you, but that's an individual thing. I just don't…

I started August 2013. Started maintenance September 2014. I stay around 50 to 60 grams of carbs daily. My doctor told me I should go up to 90 to 100, but I feel the best at around 50 or so. I fully intend to continue on this path forever. I feel the best that I've felt in years. No more bp or cholesterol meds and cpap is…

13 months. I lost a total of 128 #. low carb, moderate fat and protein. I've been at maintenance for a year and a half now. I haven't varied by more than 3 to 4# at any given time up or down. by far, it's been the best thing I've ever done for myself.

My doctor that gave me my food plan recommended I eat 2 eggs every morning. He does and has for years. I can't do it everyday day, but I do "most" mornings. And sometimes if I'm lazy, I will have them again for supper. Granted I do low carb, but my cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglyderides are optimal. They weren't before I…

I'm totally ignorant about these things. Do you eat while you are tackling this feat? I've seen people grabbing water while running/riding. You must take some regular breaks along the way. Either way, 15 hours doing anything strenuous consistently is remarkable. Good for you. And that calorie burn is out of this world. I…

here's what it said in the help screen: Once you’ve logged in, click on “My Home”, then “Settings”, then “Diary Settings”. At the top of that page you can change your meal names, as well as add up to two additional meals. Be sure to save your changes. .... I notice that you use the "settings" in the dark blue section on…

good for you. never give up. I know it's a cliche, but if I can do it, believe me, so can you. take it one day at a time, one hour at a time. friend me if you'd like. I'll help you anyway I can. good luck.

10 months for me. I still weigh and log everything. I weigh daily and take measurements once monthly. I follow my same food plan, just @ maintenance level. Continue with my walking and workout schedule. It has become a new lifestyle and it's habit now.

I was where you are now when I started. My doctor told me "low" carb. However I have insulin resistance. You don't mention that as an issue. So this was the best plan for me. But again, low carb, not no carb. I am amazed when I see some people with single digit carbs on their diaries; I have no idea how they can do it. But…

My brother had the same thing. Diagnosed Nov 2012. This was a full year after he first noticed the lump in his neck, and the doctor he saw for it said it was nothing. That dr left (thank the Lord !) and he got a new dr; he referred him to an oncologist and he was diagnosed with head/neck cancer. The tumor was wrapped…

I started low carb upon doctor recommendation (due to insulin resistance issues) August 2013. I was able to lose all my weight, and have been in maintenance since last Sept. I've had no problems remaining there. But it's not a plan you can use to lose the weight and then go back to your previous eating habits. It is a…

my goodness, it's hard enough to lose weight when you don't have much to lose under normal circumstances. stress itself can affect weight loss. add the fact that you're already a size 8 so you're small and really can't have much available to lose, I wouldn't think. although you don't give you height. but still. I agree…

try this link to reset your streak. if this doesn't work, then go to "help" above, type in reset streak, and you can find others that have asked questions about resetting your streak back to the correct number. but this is the link. good luck. I've had to do it a couple times, and they reset it almost immediately.…

my doctor diagnosed me as insulin resistant, so recommended the low carb plan. high fat and high protein. I was able to lose all my weight using that plan. he told me around 50 carbs per day. no sugar or sugar subs except stevia/truvia. no vegetables grown underground (potatoes, carrots, beets, etc). any other vegetables…

this too is from an article about dented cans. could apply to both liquid and dry contents: Don’t buy cans that are dented on the top or bottom. This is where the main seams are located and the can is the weakest. Don’t buy cans with deep, sharp dents. These can compromise the can and shouldn’t be purchased. Don’t buy a…

yes. diagnosed with both along with a dose of anxiety in 2008. but probably had it for years and years, undiagnosed. things just "came to a head" then. tried so many meds I can't even remember. finally I said not more bipolar meds cuz I was a zombie so I said no more ..., I'll live with the malady. It actually was better…

Re: weighing all your foods with the food scale: when I first started on MFP, I saw that people were constantly saying "weigh everything in grams, not cups/spoons". Finally I went ahead and bought a scale. When you start weighing I guarantee you will be shocked. The mfg says a serving of peanut butter is 2 tbs. I don't use…

I lost over 100#. Believe me, if I can do it at 60, you can do it. Sending friend request as well. It took 13 months. Have been on maintenance since last Sept.

Same thing for me. I lost a LOT of weight at 1200 calories a day. Hit goal last Sept and added back calories. Reduced my walking (doctor told me to) and unable to hit the gym due to injury, and still have been able to maintain with increased daily calories. So yes, it's totally do-able. Just cannot go back to previous…

Hi. thanks so much for the free advice. I have a question for you. I was diagnosed with tendonitis or tennis elbow in my left arm. it's actually in the muscle in front of the elbow joint, so I'm not sure really what the problem is. I'm right handed. I didn't actually DO anything to bring it on. I've had it off/on for a…

I went to a Young Living round robin last Sunday. They had 14 tables set up with different oils. You spent 5 minutes at each table. A distributor explained each oil, uses, etc. It was so interesting. I'm going to order the starter kit. My friend and I were covered in different oils by the end of the afternoon. I sure slept…

dump his *kitten* as soon as possible. he's a controlling jerk. if he acts like this to you now, what do you think it's going to be like in 3 months ... 6 months? he acts like *kitten* to you, lets you take the blame and cower to him, then when you quit, he says he's sorry. classic abuser. get the hell out while you can.…

A good friend of mine is overweight. However her stomach looks to be about 8 months pregnant not due to her weight issue. She had breast cancer, and from the chemo, she now has a very enlarged liver. Well .... one time she was flying to FL with a connecting hub in Atlanta. The queue was very long. She was in line, when…
