  • I went to a Rockies game a couple weeks ago, and while I know the food is different at Yankee stadium, I was pleased to find some decent, delicious options. A foot long hot dog smothered in grilled peppers and onions was only around 600 calories. I knew I'd go over that day, but surprisingly it wasn't too bad!
  • An enormous helping of fettuccine with some outrageous cream sauce. And lots of garlic bread.
  • Severe emotional eating, and the sheer volume of food I can consume. I can down 4000 calories like it's nothing and not feel even close to uncomfortably full. I can easily consume over 10,000 in a day. I LIKE eating. I love feeling full. I like food that is absolutely awful for you. Now I'm going to stop talking about food…
  • It is amazing how genetic impact it. When I was in an ambulance due to preterm labor (obviously a high stress situation), weighing in at 270lbs, my HR was 52. It's usually between 55 and 60. I've been a smoker all my life as well. Guess I just have a good ticker.
  • I had a Charge HR and recently switched to the Charge 2. I love it!
  • I had a particularly bad one a few days ago. PMS, coupled with not eating nearly enough the day before (like not even 500 net calories) and a heavy emotional blow, resulted in a binge I didn't even bother to log. I ate a Big Mac meal, a Beef N Cheddar meal from Arby's with mozzarella sticks on the side, and for dinner an…
  • I don't eat breakfast, so my two cups of Starbuck's vanilla latte from my Keurig are 230 calories and I enjoy every last drop. If I drink a cup at work (I work swings at a hotel) I do one sugar packet and two individual French vanilla creamer cups. 75 calories a cup. I'm perfectly ok with drinking 200-400 of my calories a…
  • "Eat lots of bread while dieting, it will help your skin be more elastic so you won't end up all saggy." That one definitely takes the cake, so to speak. The other one that makes me really twitchy is I always hear how great beans are for you. They're right, they are. I also happen to absolutely hate them. I can't tell you…
  • I usually come to work much more prepared, but it was a crazy day. Nothing with nuts available, but I got a granola bar and I'll sip a cup of coffee and hopefully that will curb my appetite. I really didn't want to consume any more calories today but I guess I have to.
  • My weakness is a beef and cheddar from Arby's. It's only around 450 calories, so it's doable to work it into my calories now and then. I used to eat the half pound variety with a side of mozzarella sticks, which are 440 calories by themselves. Now I just stick with the classic size sandwich and far less often.
  • I eat my biggest meal at lunch time, around 1PM. I hardly ever eat before noon, just my coffee. I have a fairly large lunch, a little more coffee at work, and then dinner. I work swing shift at a hotel, so I don't have a lot of time to eat during work, but we have eggs, yogurt, bagels and the like for our breakfast stuff,…
  • I don't do whole cheat days. But I am nicer to myself than I was the first time I did this. For example, I went shopping last Saturday. Shopping is a whole day affair, since I live 100 miles from civilization. My son wanted Red Robin. So we went to Red Robin. I had half a whiskey river bbq wrap and fries. I had Starbucks.…
  • 32, 5'8" SW: 250 CW: 238 GW: 155 I have myself set at sedentary, Fitbit set up to send over exercise data. MFP is set to lose 2 lbs a week and gives me 1350. I usually eat 1500-1600. I earn waaaaaay more calories than that, but I'm not super tight on my logging yet so I leave myself a cushion. I'm only about two weeks in…
  • I get home from work between 11:30 and midnight. For some reason, I crave sweets before bed. I just budget a few extra calories for some cinnamon bears (my weakness) or the like. I'm only a week into re-starting, but I'm losing so my late night sweets aren't detrimental so far.
  • I typically don't gain, but lose much slower, only while actually on it, I don't have PMS. However, my appetite is out of control. I am at day 3 of shark week. I ate cinnamon bears for dinner last night. It is what it is.
  • There is so much condescending bull**** in this comment thread. Here's my take on it. I've been on SNAP twice in my life. Once about 5 years ago, and recently went back on. The last time I was on it, I lost 70lbs. This time, I'm losing weight again. Healthy choices are absolutely doable on as Years ago, we were very nearly…
  • Add me! And anyone else on this thread add me as well. [edited by MFP mods]
  • I was a chubby kid, an overweight teen, and now I'm an obese adult. I wish like hell someone would have discussed weight control with me as a kid or teen. By all means, be cautious about how you approach it, but approach it. Don't ignore it.
  • I'm a fan of weighing daily to be more aware of fluctuations, what causes them, etc. I also use TrendWeight, so even if my weight goes up, the data input helps show a long term pattern of weight loss or gain.
  • Been off the wagon for a loooong time. Could use some new friends please :) www.fitbit.com/user/33JDQ6
  • I tried that. My son fortunately loves healthy food, thinks veggies are awesome, has never been picky. You will also only be able to pry cheddar cheese pringles from his cold dead hands. He doesn't like chocolate and refuses to drink pop, so I'll let him keep his chips.
  • With the amount you have to lose, 40 in 4 months is attainable. But don't set yourself up for disappointment by setting a hard and fast goal that you must lose a specific amount in that time frame.
  • I hated it. But I hate yoga and pilates, so it was probably stupid for me to even try it lol. I do love Chalene though!
  • Smoking is bad for you, everyone knows that. I lost 70 lbs on here while smoking. Quitting will make you healthier, you can still lose weight and work out even if you don't quit.
  • Diet Dr. Pepper. Can't stand any other flavor of diet pop in existence.
  • " I don't think you know what you're doing, I never see you with diet food." Maybe that's because I'm not on a "diet" smart one.
  • Thank you all so much. I'm trying to learn self accountability. I have a friend who is doing this with me, but she has done it with me before and fallen off, so I am attempting to be more self motivating. I do log everything, and I'm very mindful about it. My problem isn't losing weight, I lost my 70 lbs in just shy of 8…
  • I've used MFP and exercise. For both my big loss and my smaller ones. My calorie goal is set at 1200, but eat back exercise calories so I usually end up eating around 1400-1600. I don't feel deprived, or hungry, and I don't ban myself from any specific food. For exercise I walk with a friend, and do a few dance based…
  • I don't think they were too ambitious. I set my total goal on here, and then used paper tracking to break out smaller goals. 10-15 lbs here, then 20 lbs, etc.
  • It can definitely be true, but it isn't always. I'm not lazy, I never have been. Hell I was playing baseball at 272lbs and 8 months pregnant. But I tend to eat horrifying amounts of food. My obesity came from eating, not from laziness.
