Hi everyone, I'm on team Carol, again! I'm Kim, 37, and part of last season's winning team! Go team Carol! I lost right around 60 pounds but I went on to maintance for awhile and gained about 5-8 pounds back. I still fit in all my skinny clothes, but something has to give because I can see too much chin. I am doing…

Go Team Carol. I've missed my teammates! I am not sure whether to go intermediate or advanced. What are the expectations for each level? I haven't kept up with my exercise due to injury and and a crazy life, but I'm determined to get back into daily exercise! Edited for grammar

Hi Carolyn! Those are my new niece and 2 year old nephew. My husband and I don't have any kiddos yet, but we are hoping to have a few soon (Lord willing). My nephew kinda photobombed the pic. LOL

I lost 2 pounds but it is likely water weight, as I have done little that would make 2 pounds go *poof*.

Squats have helped me: 1) Find my butt (which was once seeming an extension of my hip) 2) Use a porta potty with ease (gross seat? No issue with my new squatting ability) 3) Conquer razorbacks on a trail (much easier to stay low when you regularly squat) There have been others, but these are my three favorite.

Here is how I would solve it. <name of soon to be mom-in-law> it is tacky for me to host my own bridal shower. I feel that my maid of honor and bridal party have done enough and I don't feel comfortable asking them to host me another party. If you wish to throw us a party I would be happy to accept, but I would expect your…

Hi all. I am Kim and a returning member. I have been taking some time off weight loss trying to maintain and focusing more on maintaining and strength work. However, I would like to make a final push down before Christmas, so I will be looking at more gradual weight loss than some of you as converting muscle makes you…

Way to go, Sue! I took some really unflattering before pictures that I will have to release when I get to goal. Seeing how much you have progressed gives me hope that these stubborn spots may soon shrink.

I am in for another challenge. I fell off the bandwagon a bit due to an injury and becoming annoyed with the scale, but something that is burn oriented (rather than scale dependant since I seem to be doing more converting than losing) would be awesome!

Today I'm down by half a pound. I'm flirting with breaking into the 180s and it can't come soon enough. Weight training might do awesome things for your shape, but it slows down your traditional weight loss as you are converting fat to muscle rather than losing. This most recent loss puts me in the 60 pounds down category…

The truth is that every group has attrition. Sometimes I just sign up for too many groups (or the group is not what I think it is going to be). I like belonging to a few different groups because one group is always active on any given day. It is nice to know that others are in the same boat. It seems like I was slacking on…

Total may mileage: 150. 54 miles All my individual daily mileage can be found in our fitbit group (Kimberly M.). I'm proud that I am averaging 12k steps a day. :drinker:

Do you have the option of having a salad bar instead of the hot meal? Could you ask for double portion of veggies and no starch? Are you allowed not to like something? For example I don't care how much it might offend someone, I am not going to eat cucumbers. I really despise them. If you make an Israeli salad with…

Yesterday, was a 30 minute walk with 5lbs weight training (LS's Walk Strong). I also did some pilates to hopefully strengthen my core and get rid of my belly.

I'm weirding- in. (BTW - I love it. It is the only reason I posted to the board). It is my TOM so the scale is very unfriendly to me this morning. It can't decide if I'm up 1 or 2 pounds. So I guess after three tries I'm up 2 lbs this weigh in. The good news is that I am getting in plenty of exercise and generally have…

Being around engineers everyday (family members, friends and students) engineers are very funny. Most of the general population just doesn't "get" engineer humor. However, you look fantastic! I don't see any reason you can't inthrall the masses with your new -20 year body. :drinker:

Hi! I'm Kim and I am an avid walker. I try to walk five miles a day, so I am really here to support everyone who is just getting started. Not so long ago I wasn't sure how anyone could get 10,000 steps on a pedometer or walk five miles without stopping. I do a lot of Leslie Sansone walks that I have purchased used from…

Welcome to MFP! The moderator can delete your duplicate thread so don't worry about it. Walking is a great place to start as we all walk anyway so doing more of it is not that big of a deal mentally. I bought the ultimate collection (Leslie Sansone) and loved it because it had real people on it and I could do a the one…

May 12 Green: Yes, including eating pizza for two meals! Blue: Yes My brother fed me pizza mini bagels for lunch and my husband made a flatbread for dinner. I guess yesterday was a pizza day. I worked out 90 minutes to offset.

Just a quick note to let you all know that I'm in grading h#ll. My grades are due tomorrow, so I will update you all then on my progress with my green/blues and help with the spreadsheet (if needed). I'm doing okay, I just have way too many papers to grade and not enough time to do it (grades are due tomorrow late…

If it is hereditary or if it can be controlled with diet/exercise, the good thing is that it was discovered and rectified! This way you will feel so much better and you can get in more exercise that may arrest the problem. For sure, the added exercise will help you keep other health demons at bay and lose a few pounds in…

Today's weigh in reveals I am close my low weight from two Friday's ago (within .2 lbs). I think I was dehydrated in that weigh in. I assure you that I'm not this week as I have been pumping water to deal with allergies and my lack of movement from intense all day most of the night grading sessions. So, real weight loss! I…

May 3 Green: Double red (that is when you eat enough for two days in a day!) Total: 2/25 Blue: Yes Total: 3/31 Dude, yesterday was awesome. I did a 5k walk downtown and then we went to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center. Unfortunately there was too many free goodies -- donuts, ice cream, etc.…

May 2 Green: yes, Chevy style Total: 2/25 Blue: yep Total 2/30 So guys, I added a welcome message because I need test subjects. I need to do too much grading in the next few days and so I had this brainstorm -- voice comments! I found an app but I need to know if it is working. Would someone listen to my welcome message…

GrandmaKandy - do what works for you to get your 8 glasses in. While in an ideal world it would be great for all of us to be drinking unflavored, pure water -- that isn't realistic for everyone. I often take mine with a bit of lemon to give it a different flavor, but the pre-made flavored waters are not forbidden.
