I'm going to pig out, guilt free, and get back on track once it's over.

Oh yes. That's me completely and consistently. I can be 44 years old and 300 lbs and think I'm 20 and 175. Then, of course, when I look in the mirror my brain goes "wth's up with that broken mirror???"

This is the worst sounding thing, but it's omg so good (and healthy)! I gave my daughter a taste and her eyes popped open and she said "this is GOOOOD!" 3 cups spinnach 1 Tbs peanut butter (can use 2 Tbs for an additional 100 calories if you wish) 1/2 banana 1/2 cup milk 2 1/2 cups water (substitute ice if you like) 1…

So of course I make sure to weigh myself at 10. :)

I can easily gain 4 lbs between 10am and 2pm.

This is the second time I've lost weight - the first time was just to lose weight, this time it's to get healthy. First time around taught me a bit and might help answer some of your questions. Yes - my fat definitely got squishy. It went from being a hard lump of "man muscle" to a bowl of Jelly that Bill Cosby would have…

Love it!

Nope. Research (search the online new england journal of medicine) has shown that people habitually overestimate calories burned and underestimate calories eaten. Therefore, I try to underestimate calories burned and overestimate calories eaten - to compensate for that.

I like women who are a bit chunky.

only calories will affect your weight loss cholesterol affects your number of visits to the emergency room. :)

First time it took me 3 months to lose 60 pounds. I liked where I was, and riding my bike for an hour and a half in winter seattle weather (aka non-stop rain) sucked, so I just stopped and started living normally. It took 5 years to gain back those 60 pounds - and so here I am losing them again! Though I'm going for a…

This chart is fantastic! I want to do this. This really helps understand weight loss better than anything I've yet seen.

There needs to be a 'like' button. lol

There's always that bit of oil left in the pan, but I could the whole amount I put in - as I figure that I'm probably under counting somewhere else.

But if you start lifting real heavy stepping on all the bands might be difficult. This guy found a creative way around that. http://liveexercise.com/main/forum/thread/336/pulley-platform-for-band-deadlifts-and-hack-squats/

I've only been using them for a week but I'm really impressed with the quality. All the components are built like a tank. Better than I expected. I've read some users say that they last for 5 or so years but with regular frequent use you start to feel them loosen up a bit after a couple. Still, for the price I'm ok with…

I agree. I also agree that it would be easier to see in the same clothes. And finally, I agree that if you just keep with it, and keep your calorie deficit, you'll lose weight and size.

Bodylastics is extremely high quality. http://www.bodylastics.com/ It's available in UK and you can get the 202 lb set for $77 (abt 40 pounds???)

This topic just made me hungry for a burger the size of a plate and slathered in mayo with a wheel barrow of fries on the side.......

That's a great (and horrible) movie.

I made a recipe once on mfp and logged the herbs/spices so I could remember in the future. I was shocked at how many calories and nutrients were in each. I was expecting "0" of everything. Kind of stupid to assume that, but ....yeah... :) I now always make sure to log my seasonings, spices, and herbs.

But if you lose 1-2 pounds a week, that doesn't seem any different than eating what you want and watching the calories. I was contemplating that same program too. But if it's just 1-2 lbs, I don't see that it's worth it. :(

I've only lost 11 lbs so I'm hardly pro enough to answer you, however I have been reading and reading and reading (not diet books though). From what I've read: Weight comes and goes throughout the day - as much as 4 or 5 pounds. It's food, water, poop, and whatever else the body is deciding to do at the moment. It's best…

Hi.... I'm Rob, and I'm a Fat Middle-Aged Dad. I'm hoping to lose a hundred pounds and go skateboarding with my boys. :)

I just started my diet/exercise a couple weeks ago so I'm addicted to the scale. But I can definitely see the point in this - those fractions of a pound each day are depressing when you want to see double digits. lol I'm in. I'm 271 lbs. I'm just eating healthy foods - nothing special and no 'diet'. I ride a bike between…
