Day 3 of level 1 so far. Got a week in before stopping previously. Really would like to kick start my weight loss and get fit and toned up. Been out of exercise after hurting my back 6 months ago. Is anyone following a particular diet alongside? Does Gillian advise following any particular diet, doesn't mention it in my…

I don't know how long it will take but interval running really ups your fitness quick! Jog for 2 minutes (comfortable pace) then sprint for 1 minute and repeat for 20 mins and then gradually increase the time (21 mins, 22 mins) and when comfortable increase the speed. Worked for me, I couldn't get beyond 20 minutes for a…

Thanks everyone for your advice. I will look into cost and then think about whether to do it that way or just join a gym. Thanks again.

I'm afraid it will all go back on in a couple of days. Alcohol is a diuretic and so you have pee'd it out! Happens to me every time, although 11lbs is a lot! I drank a bottle of wine last night and am 2lbs down today but I know that it will all go back on in a couple of days once my body is hydrated again.

Well I've been thinking of getting into lifting for a while as pretty stuck and run about 4 times a week. This thread has convinced me, some absolutely amazing results, very inspirational! The book has been ordered!

I use intervals when I'm on the treadmill, keeps it a bit more interesting. I start of walking for 2 mins at 3.5mph, then jog for 2 mins at 6mph, then run for 1 min at 7.5mph and repeat for however long, 20mins or so then cool down with a bit of walking. I had been running for about 6 months and didn't feel like I was…

I stopped loosing weight and I put it down to the bottle of wine or so at the weekend so gave it up for 3 weeks. It was hard but it kick started with the weight loss for a bit. The third week I didn't loose anything and have now gone back to having a few drinks at the weekend, because well life is short and weight loss is…

I love that today I went to the toilet and pulled my jeans down without undoing the button and zip, thought I had jeggings on! Those jeans used to be too tight. :)

Run for an hour. Fit into the 3 red dresses that have sat in my wardrobe unworn for far too long! Only 5lbs-6lbs down at the moment, have 6lbs-7lbs to go but has made all the difference in the world! Yeeehhaaahhh!!!

Hi all, just thought I would give an update. I am now into my 3rd week of no alcohol and this really seems to have made a difference. Although before I was counting my alcohol in my calorie intake I really do think it was messing with my metabolism. I think this has been the problem with me for the last 3 years trying to…

Hi, I had a similar thing. Was running 4-5 times a week and on 1,200 calories and didn't see much change for 2 weeks (only had 12lbs to loose). My body seems to take 2 weeks to start to put on weight but also 2 weeks to start to loose weight. On other diets it is the 2 week stage where I give up but have decided to stick…

Wow, thanks everyone for all your replies!! Kept searching and didn't think there were any then saw hundreds!! Interesting stuff about alcohol slowing down metabolism, mine seems to be at a snails pace as it is! I think I will give my bottle of wine a miss this weekend as I'm still getting into it and then see how I get on…
