I'm going to stick to what I was doing and continue balancing out the cardio and the weights. I've been eating at a deficit, MFP has put me at 1550 calories (not including any workout calories). Would eating at a lower deficit cause more substantial weight loss or should I stick to this for now?

Thanks for all the info. Currently i'm eating clean and exercising almost every day (you can see both in my diary). I don't have too much to lose, maybe 1 stone (14lbs) to start with and see how my body looks but I think I will probaly have to go for another after that and i've been doing weights and cardio as I didn't…

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks I found it, it has me down at 55 carb / 15 protein / 30 fat . I am going to try your advice and go 40/30/30.

Doing stationary bike and I am getting the calories from the machine.

I am currently 193lbs/87kg. I am aiming to get to around 168lbs

Where would I go to custom set them? I've had a look and can only find custom sets for my exercise goals. I think i'd like to put protein up a little and carbs down slightly as I put in some foods that I would eat on a typical day to see what the figures would look like and I went over on the protein but was under a lot on…

That is why I signed up to here yesterday, I want to give it a try and see if the changes help. I will start logging a diary from tomorrow so people and myself can see how I am getting on.

How can you not think this possible? I am hitting that number of calories consistently every single day I do it.

Great responses, thanks for all the help. Really making things a lot clearer to understand and make the changes needed.

Does the 1550 calories that MFP suggests include the calories burned? Or will I also need to eat another 500/600 on top?
-
Thanks, i'll give it a read now!

Sorry as you can probably tell i'm pretty new to all the correct terms and this in general. What I meant was i've cut out carbs such as rice/potato/pasta/bread (complex carbs? is this the correct term or way off?)

Thanks for the response, very useful and much appreciated.

I have basically cut out pasta/bread/rice/potato but I am going to reintroduce them. I signed up to here today and have got my MFP figures so I will give them a try and see what results I get.

Thanks for the response. My MFP is telling me to have 1550 calories a day. I'm going to start tracking tomorrow and introducing carbs into my diet and weight resistance into my training and see if I make any progress.
