I have to be honest, I did not read through all of these replies. I am turning 50 this summer and would like to add some female friends to mutually encourage and support. My diary is open to friends and I currently log daily so please send me a friend request.

I would call myself a flexitarian. Flexible is right in the word but after all they are all just labels and anyone can define and name their own style of eating, right? I think I did like the term "semi-vegetarian" better but flexitarian seems to me that it can mean that you don't mind meat, like it can be cooking in the…

I can't seem to drop the lbs. I'm 49 and in the thick of it. I'm counting calories, increasing fiber and potassium and avoiding highly processed. I strive for 80/20 on point, so 80% healthy, 20% grace for when I'm not so healthy. I am looking to add friends for encouragement and support. 🙂

I'm interested in the Keto diet but I haven't been brave enough yet. Would like to hear how it goes for you.

I can't figure out how to edit the above. I meant to say that I am looking for female friends.

Hi Gretchen. It sounds like you have your hands full. And the cold...well, this is the first year I actually WANTto keep my heat under 70. lol

Looking for friends to stay motivated! Fitbit Charge HR user: https://www.fitbit.com/user/3HPDD5 (not necessary to be friends though)

Hi. I have a Charge HR and am looking for some mutual support and motivation! I am a runner. 3-6 miles a day, 3-5 times a week. I'm not training for a marathon, I just want to stay actively healthy! I used MyFitnessPal a while ago to log calories and lost 40 lbs. I am maintaining my weight without logging calories.…

I'm not the biggest pancake fan. I mean they're too much work for what their worth BUT i have recently discovered how yummy ricotta is right out of the container! So I can imagine the pancakes would be pretty yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

Thanks All! It probably IS best not to get hung up on labels!!! :blushing: :drinker: :flowerforyou:

Thin Mints frozen are my favorite! I think I will eat a whole box in 1 or 2 sittings and just get it out of the way and out of the house - lol

I ate it for the first time in a greek yogurt. I thought it had a funny aftertaste like artificial sweetener (which I don't like bc of headache and nausea) but I don't know if it was the stevia or something else about the yogurt?

great advice on this thread! When I eat more than I should of something, I log it so that I can see exactly how much it cost me in calories, sodium, etc. so that the next hopefully I won't eat that much! It seems to be working for me.

I weigh everyday so I can see the fluctuations but I think the weekly or monthly check would be fine too if you prefer. Try it out and see what you like best. The important thing to me is not to fret too much over it.

I always eat oranges or drink orange juice - Vitamin C plus I like the scratchy feeling on my throat while I eat/drink then afterwards the sore throat isn't as bad as it was to swallow the orange (I'm just strange about that).

I didn't notice but there does seem to be strong opinions that you should weigh all your food. I don't have a scale but I use the hand graph and measuring cups. I want to loose and be healthy without getting too fanatical about it. So I won't weigh until I get to the point of no other option. That's just me.

Oh yes! I agree with the others that gum is great! and staying busy!

Reading the community forums, facebook, housework/cleaning, go shopping or mall walking. I think about how I felt before I lost weight and then I suck my stomach in and let it back out - - that usually makes me feel less like putting food in there! It's a great question, I'm very interested in other suggestions.
-
YES, it is so much harder now (older)! I wish you the best at maintaining and enjoying life!

Wow! I thought the hula hoop was just for play, I didn't even know there was such a formal exercise using them. I am going to totally look into it. Sorry I can't answer the original question - I like to know too!
-
That's really impressive, especially for being younger! Nice! You look great and I'm sure you feel great too! :flowerforyou:

I used to use a teaspoon of sugar and a bunch of sweetened cream in my coffee but I have eliminated the sugar and now just use the creamer. I can't quite drink it black yet ...
-
Thanks for sharing. I would try them but only if they're on sale. I usually only splurge if it has chocolate in it!
-
Glad you like it. Since it's low in calories, etc. be careful, you still can't eat too much - moderation always seems the best. Now if I could just follow my own advice, I might actually loose more weight. :)

I log it so I can see what it is and how much I've consumed so maybe the next time I "cheat" I won't be tempted to cheat even more. knowledge = wisdom = good choices or something like that.
