I was 277 pounds in the fall of 2012. I'm walking more than I used to, but that's it except for the number and the KIND of calories. I stay away from simple carbs and starches as much as possible. Very little bread and potato, especially. (I used to love my potato chips and sweet ice tea...)

I think it was around 20 pounds when it started being noticeable. I noticed it in belt notches - other people commented that I had a neck again...at 30 pounds I was feeling more agile and stairs became much easier, both upa and down. I'm at 55 pounds total loss now, and yesterday a person commented that I hadn't seen for…

Most of us can relate to "ups and downs" along the way. You will provide encouragement to those of us who haven't ackomplished what you have.

I log in every day, I eat on the road a lot, and I'm told that I have a weird sense of humor. Add me, if you'd like.

I don't crave the sweet, so my 9-10 p.m. snack is a bowl of air popped popcorn with nothing but a little salt.

Okay, here is my log. I've filled in from week 1 since I have the info available: 11/04/2013 - 231 11/11/2013 - 229 11/18/2013 - 227 11/25/2013 - 225 I weigh every day (just for reference) and the chart has its ups and downs. :-) I didn't notice the weekly linearity until I put the list together.

Please add me to the group. I've lost 40# in the past 6 months with a combination of calorie control and major carb reduction. I have eliminated MOST bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, and junk. The thing that makes this work for me is that none of these foods are my favorites. I love meat, and I'm learning to like salads and…

5'-9" 61 yoa SW 5/13 265 CW 224 GW - for now - 200 Coco, you must not remember how you felt and moved 45# ago. As the wight comes off you will move so much easier and... "bouncier." Pick up a bag of flour that weighs 25-30# and carry it around for a little while. Yes, it feels THAT much different!

I have gone from 265-270 in 2/2013 to 225 presently by staying away from starches (bread, pastas, potatoes, and, of course, sugar) as much as possible. I try to stay with meats and raw/steamed veggies. I don't weigh my food, but I try to stay around 1500 calories. Before Now My current goal is 200. I have no particular…

Try to ignore the opinions of those who insult you. Remember, God doesn't make junk!

I've tried several diets in the past. I always spent the entire time I was on the diet looking forward to getting off of it! And I always added the weight -plus- back on. This time, I'm not on a diet, I'm changing the way I eat. I've cut out most sugar and starches. No more sweet ice tea or sodas. No more…

You do look different, but I'm sure that you carry yourself differently, too, both physically and mentally. Way to go!
