I agree with whmscll and cwolfman13, 100%. Too much sugar is the problem, not sugar itself.

Kale. It's a garnish.

Some people don't have the digestive enzymes to handle artificial sweetners. Allulose (the new kid on the block) is one for me (used in quest beyond cereal bars). Within 30 minutes of eating them l experience extreme digestive discomfort and bloating as do many people. That is probably what the shopper meant by "it'll tear…

> I'm just worried that if i consistently go over the 1200 that I won't lose weight. Get a heart rate monitor if you don't already, and wear it whenever you're working out, or just cleaning up around the house, cooking, shopping (ie not sitting on your butt). http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/polar-ft4m-silver-h1.html…

Hi Lucy, great question! I've been on MFP for over a year now and about half that time l've been @ 1200 per day... I usually end up leaving some calories on the board due to exercise and/or light/moderate activity. For example walking around the grocery store for 20 minutes, or cooking/food prep for a half hour. Say l get…

I've found 1200 to be relatively easy -- the trick is to start off with only a pound a week (say 1360 cals per day or so) for a few months... and ease into 1200 -- because it is quite low and takes quite a bit of working up to. But eventually it becomes second nature.

I've also found it very helpful to drink lots of water or a zero calorie soda/drink to help keep my tummy feeling fuller in those situations.

Hiya Iceburg! Just south of you here... l'm an Akronite, and have the smell of burning rubber permanently seared into my skin to prove it!

Yeah HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) has worked wonders for me. I by no means consider myself a "runner"... but l jog 4 or 5 days a week for at least 3 miles per session. My goal is to be able to do a 5k in under 30 minutes; l'm close but not quite there. I've used HIIT to help get my cardio up and l'm able to…

Check out "The Willpower Instinct" http://amzn.com/1583334386 It's a pretty good read, and explains how a lot of this stuff works.

I use Mio almost every day and have for the past 6 months, and l'm 65 lbs down. PPL at work preach to me all the time about how bad ingredient XYZ is (l work with a bunch of "experts on everything" you know the type).... anyway my response is "Well it seems to be working for me."

Get up a little earlier in the mornings and workout before you get ready for work. This has an amazingly positive effect on your mood, and boosts your metabolism for the day. I have *never* been a morning person... all my life it was wake up, brush my teeth and hair and rush out the door. But after l started working out…

Calorie wise it's better than the regular soda... I've read studies that say how bad these artificial sweeteners are for our bodies -- but the fact is l'm losing weight; it's working for me. Diet soda has helped me get through this drastic change in my diet; just don't go overboard. The artificial sweeteners can cause a…

Hi fightdem, great question! I just finished reading a book that mentioned this same example (diet coke vs regular coke) ... lm' going to paraphrase as best l can how l understood it. It mentioned that your body is "tricked" into thinking the artificial sweetener is real, and in preparation of the impending flood of sugar…

Read "The Willpower Instinct" by Kelly McGonigal It's a new book, by the professor behind "The Science of Willpower" course at Standford University. Just finished it last week and it's a very good read, other than explaining physiologically and psychologically what's going on in your head, it has all kinds of tips, tricks…

Tried this last night and it was delicious, it's also quite filling! Hope everyone else gives it a shot, it's a very healthy, and good alternative.

Thanks Hendrix, looks like you're right. Bummer, l found the product listed as a "fat burner" on that same site... So you think l should just skip it... or take' em anyway just in case they do something for me?

My gosh this looks so good. Can't wait to try it!

Hi Eve_e, l'm the same way.... l wouldn't say it is so much anxiety and stress as it is obsessive compulsive disorder lol. See how much you care after day 60, it gets easier.
