  • What a bummer, some of those blogs were so inspirational for me. I had stepped away for awhile and did not see any of the warnings and couldn't find my faves when i came back. I really hate the MFP blog. it just seems like a magazine ad and not personal at all.

  • I have been asking for his FOR YEARS. I also wish I could sort my recipes into folders. I know I can now do it on my app, but I use the desktop just about as much, and when I 'm working on a recipe I usually do it on the desktop
  • It’s super frustrating I can’t see if the serving size is 1 ounce or cup or whatever without clicking on it. Now when I search food I get my serving size entered and then to go back to my diary I have to cancel out of the search?? Am I missing something?
  • This is hands down the best post about Keto I've seen. THANK YOU! I am NOT a supporter of the Keto diet as a weight loss tool. People think its a magic diet, but unless you have a medical condition and HAVE to eat this way for the rest of your life, it is not sustainable. It just isn't and it is exhausting having to listen…
  • I find it at Safeway here, but I'm in Alaska so that might not be any help. Chilly cow is hands down the best light ice cream. I love Umpqua fat free frozen yogurt though, it is better than most regular ice creams.
  • chilly cow brownie batter, and Umpqua fat free frozen yogurt caramel macadamia nut
  • My suggestion is to get professional help. Reach out to someone that you can talk to in person. Ask your physician for a recommendation for a therapist. This forum isn't going to give you relationship answers, they will support you in meal planning and encouragement to become healthy, but it appears you need more than…
  • Even with the prepackaged salads that total seems cheap to me for what you got. I spend 200+ per week on groceries.. I get pretty excited when raspberries are $5 per container. I think ultimately food costs depend on where you live. I'm in Alaska so there is a shipping cost added to everything. We don't have fresh farmers…
  • Skinnytaste.com is fantastic. the turkey pumpkin chili is amazing.
  • I'm 51 with 55 to lose. Currently I'm at 200 and 5'4". I enjoy being outside in the summer but struggle to get outside more in the winter. I live in Alaska and we have had really wacky weather the past few years. less actual snow and more rain and Ice. We are buried this year  I lost 50 pounds about 15 years ago…
  • Here is a link to a good picture and explanation of the different types of avocados. https://www.foodrepublic.com/2012/10/18/know-your-avocado-varieties-and-when-theyre-in-season/
  • Home. I have a 30 minute drive to the nearest gym. This means getting up at 330-4 to be able to get there, work out, drive back out to my house and be a t work by 7. I can get up at 430 and have a cup of coffee and go to the basement in my jammies and bed head and no one else can see me. I dedicated a 10 x 30 space in the…
  • We call them Alaskans, Inupiat,Inuit, Yupik. I live in Alaska and the only time I hear Eskimo is when someone is referring to Eskimo Pie ice cream bars, or Eskimo Ice cream.

  • My husband an myself spend right at 700-800 per month here in Alaska. I shop sales and buy bulk when I can (Costco is three hours away). Our menu every week is based on what is cheap. We only eat out about once a month. When I can I shop at the farmers markets, but they can be pretty spendy.
  • Well I'm back after a few weeks away. I'm still logging, still holding steady on my weight (whew, I was worried about being on vacation). Time to change things up and kick start the loss again. I went to Boise for a week to watch my daughter compete in a body building competition (she is my inspiration). She did well, 1st…
  • I used to have someone that did that to me every morning when I was a manager at a Home Depot. One morning I was done lol. I flat out told him until I have my apron on don’t talk to me. Lol. From them on he brought me coffee and waited until I’d been in for at least 5 minutes. But it sure can be a rough start to a day to…
  • Good Morining! I had a long weekend of painting cabinets and staining shelves. we are in the third year of a "down to the studs" remodel and I'm ready to be done. I am glad that it's the basement I'm working on which is my craft room/canning kitchen/gym. If it would only finish itself. I live in Alaska, so flowers have not…
  • I love my scales. I bought a new one to replace my old one, but ended up putting one on each side of my kitchen. lol. no excuses to not weigh. at. all. I remember thinking I was doing so good with my measurements, until I started weighing. What a wake up call.
  • Love this group, I don't know how I haven't seen it until today! After many, many, many attempts I think my head is finally in this game. Getting off my behind has been the best thing for menopause, sore knees, and my energy level.
  • You will fluctuate. Weight loss is not linear, it won't just go down, you will see up and down. I go up 2-4pounds than I'll drop it. Weigh at the same time of the day, I do in the morning before my shower in a t-shirt. Drink lots of water, log accurately, and give it time. I've lost 20 pounds in 4 months and it has been up…
  • ~Slimfast- ugh I Choked these down ~chewing gum diet- one of my friends in school told me to only chew gum all day and then just eat dinner. I did for a week and SURPRISE! lost weight, but then I wasn't really eating either. ~Richard Simmons- loved this, but I really didn't understand how weight loss really worked, so I…
