  • You should only really weigh yourself once a week or so. Weighing daily or more often can produce these fluctuations. Also try and weigh yourself at the same time / point each week. That way you get fairer results.
  • Hi, Going to the gym can get boring and maybe the thought of having to make that effort is making you think again. You could always try and do something at home, i.e. an excercise video or an excercise bike. Maybe that way you won't feel that you have to make the effort to go to the gym but you are still excercising.…
  • I have just bought it and it only arrived this week so I'm planning to start tomorrow. I have heard good things about it though.

  • Welcome to the site. You are going to love it. Like you I was using another similar site and only changed after being disappointed when they finally released their mobile phone app (which was so bad). I changed to this site about 1 month ago and was pleased to find that it was actually better than the site that I was…
  • Hi I've never heard of this, please can you tell me something about it? Thanks
  • I'm here to lose weight and to try and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
  • That was hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh.

  • I have a big belly and this appears to be where I store most of my fat. I have managed to reduce it by doing between 300 and 600 Ab crunches per day. Now I know this sounds like quite a lot but I have been breaking them down and doing them in several sets over the course of a day. I have also changed my diet and cut out a…
  • The reason for the minimal weight loss is because you are building muscle and this is heavier than fat. Ultimately if you work out a lot, you will definately slim down but will get heavier in the long term because of the muscle that you build. Well done on going down two pants sizes though. A lot of people think that the…
  • You are gaining muscle weight. Muscle weighs heavier than fat and although you will fit into smaller clothes, you will get heavier. This is not a bad thing. Your weight on the scales can be confusing, some perople say that it is better to measure your waist, hips etc, rather than rely solely on weighing scales. Also you…

  • I agree with Griffin90 this is a bigger problem than just lack of discipline. You should speak to your doctor and request to see a counsellor. I hope you are able to sort out your problems. Good luck
  • I agree with Paiinten, bascially do some excercise to add calories to your daily limit this way you can have drink. Also try and stick to spirits like vodka and gin as these are less fattening than beer or wine. Just try not to go too over the top. Have fun :drinker:
  • Congratulations on reaching your first goal.
  • Hi, I think that you have done really well. Congratulations on the weight loss. You should try were possible to stick to your diet but if it become impossible to stay under, then don't beat yourself up about it. As you said, you go to the gym 6-7 nights each week. With regards to logging food religiously, I do this too but…
  • Your brother is displaying classic symtoms of depression. He may be in denial but his behaviour is not normal. You should try and get him to speak to someone. He might find it easier to speak to someone outside of his family. I hope you are able to sort him out. Good luck.
  • Good luck on your mission.
  • I have never heard of this workout but have just done some research on the internet and it looks right up my street. I'm considering buying. I particularly like the idea of the 20 minute workouts. Thanks

  • You might find that you are not losing so much because of excercise. I don't know how much excercise that you do, but remember that muscle weighs heavier than fat and if you are doing loads of excercise, then eventually you will get heavier. Personally I prefer to do excercise because this adds calories to your goal. Good…
  • Hi there, I was always told not to eat for at least 2 hours before doing a workout. I would therefore continue with what you are doing. Welcome to the site.
  • Hi, The trick with using this site and wanting to lose weight is to try and change the things that you are eating. You can if you want to continue to eat as normal, however you should try and stick to your goal. It is probably better though if you change or try to find lower calorie foods so that you can try and stay…
  • Hi You can either pick something similar, enter the calories yourself or if you know the name of the pastry / treat enter this, you will be surprised what other MFP users have entered on this site. I find that I very rarely have a problem in finding items on this site.
  • The best way and fairest way to weigh yourself is weekly not daily. If you weigh daily then you will go nuts because body weight can fluctuate quite a lot over a relatively short period of time. Things like TOM have an effect also (if you are a girl). You should try and weigh yourself and the same time / point in the day…
  • I try to drink 2 litres during the course of the day but I don't have the issue with getting up all during the night. Maybe it's a transition period and your body will get used to it and adjust accordingly. It is recommended that we drink 2 litres per day of water but maybe this isn't the case for everyone?

  • I think that you have to look at the amount of calories over a period of days, not just one. As long as overall you stay under your goal, you will lose weight. Good luck
  • The main thing about losing weight and changing your diet is to change the bad habits that you might have had and get used to a new and healthier life style. You have obviously found something that works for you and when you reach your goal weight it will be about maintaining this and not returning to any previous bad…
  • I have to admit it looks very tasty. I will give it a whirl too. Thanks
  • Hi, There was nothing specific in my case, I just decided that I needed to have a healthier lifestyle.
  • It is normal to store fat on "the girls" therefore if you lose weight, then you also lose cup size. You will also add to your cup size if you put on weight.
