From my experience Atkins allows more carbs than your typical Keto diet. I don't stay in Ketosis when I go over, say, 25-30 carbs. Keto is based on high fat/protein, minimal to no carbs. Atkins is too- but has more phases of adding "good carbs" back in. Keto... you are essentially in Atkins induction continually.

Totally am writing my numbers on my mirror now. Just busted out a dry erase pen and everything. Nice job!

Thanks guys! I'll have to look up the "you are your own gym". I'd like a nice starting point before I start 5x5 in a few months. I don't wanna be flabby abby after losing weight and zero definition. It would be nice as the weight comes off to reveal some muscles.... they must be in there somewhere!

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. That makes sense. Just what I need..... longer workouts hahaha. But yeah, again that makes sense. I'll have to rearrange my workouts. I can burn out the upper body pretty easy because I just don't have much strength there- but the lower body I feel like I'm not doing enough. I do squats with…

I've done both. The online weight watchers is nice, but the community is really kind of terrible. They have great recipes and things, which you can get for free. They offer a lot of "tools", but personally none of them were very exciting or helpful. I did online and meetings.... meetings are just kind of lame. But the…

Well I think overall being low carb causes your body to use other sources of energy aside from carbs, causing weight loss. And I also believe that protein takes more energy to digest/burn, also increasing your daily calorie expenditure. (Not a scientist this is just what I've taken from reading). I highly doubt you can go…

The pill doesn't really make you gain weight. Some forms of birth control like the hormonal IUD, Implanon, Depo shot.... those are usually associated with more weight gain. I personally haven't heard of many stories of the pill causing more than 5 or so lbs of weight gain, which is supposedly water retention. Bonus of…

I had a similar situation. Honestly, it took me a really long time to straighten back out. A long time of just eating normally and hanging out with the weight. I mean years long time. The weight is finally starting to move again. Never, ever again will I do HCG! Worst idea ever.

I too am interested. Bumping to watch :-)

The FITBIT does track daily calories burned, but I mean it's not 100% accurate. It's a decent guide line. I have a FB and HRM. I personally prefer the HRM because it gives better workout readings. You can use both and auto insert calories from the HRM during a workout into your FB profile. That is just too much for me. I'm…

Thanks! I really appreciate the responses. I think I will look into 5x5 again. And maybe try early AM when no one is there.... lol.

Again, not referring to MFPers telling people to NOT do something ridiculous. I'm just saying that even when it's not ridiculous... in fact totally normal... some know-it-all comes behind them and tells them they MUST be wrong. And their way is better. Pfffft your weight loss is less impressive because you did it XYZ way.…

That was the one that spurred my post, but I see it all the time. Someone always did it better and easier.

Should I just clarify... I'm not saying that telling someone, "you probably shouldn't eat 300 calories a day of pure fat and then work out 600 hours" is negative. That IS supportive. All I'm saying is, someone will say "I lost 30lbs low carb! Yay!" And then some self righteous turd will come right behind them and say…

..lol..

hahahaha!!!

I will agree, to an extent. But some people (often) are just plain rude and righteous. We all have opinions, of course. And I don't want to stifle that. But I just see an overwhelming amount of really unsupportive comments.

I can't believe there is so much negativity on here! 4lbs is success, geesh! Quit hatin'. I say congrats, on 1lb or 100. Not everyone can have the same plan.
