Wow, I think you should eat A LOT more. I'm a 125lb. girl and I maintain eating 1900 + exercise calories, often over 2300 gross. I can't even fathom eating less than 1200 as a dude. I have eaten that much in one sitting several times. Try these: http://www.cordianet.com/calculator.htm…

Quit using dated and improper studies on actual starvation to refute legitimate metabolic slowdown. If you read the thread, you'd realize it's about metabolic slowdown, not starvation.

My self-worth and no one else's should be defined by how many pounds of mass you weigh, gain or lose. Why are you even posting on this subject. You are underweight from what you said and always have been, or at least have been for several years. Are you trying to lose weight while already being underweight? Weight loss in…

That's a dude according to the profile. Do trolls have a gender?

How does all the food above come out to 1400 calories. Not trying to be mean, but I'd love to see the breakdown of all that food that comes in at 1400 calories. I find myself skeptical.

Meh, the dude from the OP wasn't cheating in the direct definition of the term. I replied because he was being a douche and I wanted to point out that he might have gained some personal emotional growth from doing it the natural way. He argued that he did it naturally before, so he was just getting back what he had. I say…

Agreed. Clinical and scientific studies take more than 3-22 days. That's not even enough time for a female to complete a full menstrual cycle and rule out any hormonal effects from that spectrum. Real scientific studies last months if not years.

I eat anywhere from 1600-2300 cals/day, depending on my activity that day. My net is usually 1500-1900. I maintain NETTING 1900 quality calories a day. No need to starve yourself to skinny. My net is set at 1700 right now to cut some bodyfat%. My TDEE is 1900-2700+ per day via BodyMedia Fit. I run 15-20miles/week broken up…

What's these shenanigans about having to eat less than 1200 calories to weigh less than 130lbs? I'm 5'2", 125lbs and I eat waaaaaay more than 1200 calories a day! SHENANIGANS!

I stumbled across that site by accident once. I was following a link from someone's MFP profile that listed that site as inspiration. The same person also discussed struggles with EDs, binging and purging, finding "waifs" as the most desirable image, eating less than 1000 calories as requirements for losing weight, etc.…

If you are 5'8" and 142lbs, why are you trying to lose weight and why are you starving yourself?

Sorry your thread got hijacked and sorry for my part in it. I hope you find what works for you! I just hate seeing people put bad information out and sway others into believe nonsense.

eyeballing? really? And do you realize that your silly little article actually supports thermodynamics? I think you also need to lesson on scientific research which is properly supported by PEER REVIEW articles with citations and controlled, unbiased studies. Blogs do not count as peer review, scientific journal articles.

There's more than good reason to believe a calorie deficit results in weight loss. It's thermodynamics. It's fact. It's not theory. If you lost weight, then you were at a deficit. Just because you didn't feel hungry, doesn't mean you weren't at a deficit. how do you measure the food after you eat it? I'm not sure there's a…

how was your BF% measured? scale? calipers? BIA? You do NOT look 25% to me. It's got to be less!

Your plan of action depends entirely on what your end goal is. You likely feel freakin' awesome, even with the lower cals, because you dropped so much weight. It's really awesome right now, but it might catch up with you later if you continue to work out vigorously. You might suppress your metabolism a little too much if…
